Braylon Pickrel's game-winning 3 pointer as time expired to beat then-rival Dixie State, save Russ Pennell's job (for exactly one year), & send GCU to the 2012 NCAA D2 tournament.
Places outside PHX you've cheered GCU?
Was there for GCU's 2pt loss to NAU in Flagstaff, but Lopes also came home with DeWayne Russell. So, who really won? Saw GCU beat Houston & Marshall on their way to winning Global Sports Classic tournament in Vegas. Seeing Lopes play Arizona to within 10 points in Tucson was also a lot of fun.
Best/Worst GCU memories?
Best: Seeing Lopes beat traditional MWC powers New Mexico & San Diego State in GCU Arena were both pretty cool experiences. The whole GSC Vegas trip was also awesome.
Worst: Seeing Lopes lose an exhibition to Master's College in Pennell's final year was brutal. Majerle having to kick his best player (D. Walker) & starting PG (J. Lowery) off the team before conference play in his first season was also rough. I'm not sure it gets much worse than being swept by Chicago State in 2014-15, though.

Yeah, being the only old guys in a gym full of college kids at what we though was an "All GCU Fan" Watch Party is as awkward/uncomfortable as it gets. Haha.
