The Tennessee Titans should be the Nashville Kats because there are sixteen thousand eight hundred and twentyone guitar pickers in Nashville.
The Indiana Pacers should have been the Indianapolis Racers.
I don't see any difference between Pacers and Racers. I think we can all agree that the Jazz have the wrong city for their name. I'd also argue that the Thunder have the wrong name and are in the wrong city. And while many of us are too young to remember, there haven't been any trolleys in LA to dodge for nearly 80 years.
Sacramento Kings should've found a more unique name, especially with LA Kings in same state. Pilots?
Anaheim Ducks should've never switched from Mighty Ducks. Ditto Phoenix Coyotes, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Boston Patriots, Washington Bullets and Washington Senators.
Vegas Golden Knights should DEFINITELY be Las Vegas Aces. Most egregious of 'em all.
Arizona Cardinals should've flipped to something unique. Javelinas? Roadrunners?
Minnesota Wild should be Minnesota NorthStars. Dallas Stars should be Dallas Texans. Houston Texans should be Houston Oilers.
In 1979 when the team moved the Utah Jazz could have been the Utah Stars (after the ABA team in Utah), Utah Pioneers, Utah Rockies (this was before the MLB team in Colorado was formed), Utah Tribes (among a few others). However that ship has sailed. Like the Lakers, the name has stuck with the local fanbase.

I honestly don't think about how ridiculous the name is, it just is what it is like Dodgers, Lakers and Grizzlies.
