First we're told the TBOR is holding it up, then we're told after spring practice (this past year), then we're told after the season. This is a very important project for our football program, so, does anyone have the latest info on this?
Has someone really parked a backhoe out there?

It would be par for the course.
I blame RC
The money is not there
Bond issues and lack of funding. It will get done but it will be after the basketball facility is complete.

For years a lot of our most vocal message board "fans" complained about RC not reaching out to the "little people" in the program. I wonder how many of them have actually chose this time to shine?

Give til it hurts
Unfortunately, I'm not surprised at the lack of funding. We have very little fan base (meaning ticket sold) and even fewer deep pocket boosters. The football program does not make any money. When a program is outside of the Power 5 conferences. then it is always a struggle. The school needs a T. Boone Pickens.
I'll up my donation this year. :)

We have a T. Boone Pickens. What we really need is about 20K-30K fans who are willing to go above and beyond buying a couple of $100 season tickets and who complain like babies when the cost of a parking pass increases by a few bucks.

We have a winner!

I even think the school was shocked at how poorly the "time to shine" was received by the community.

I was told the money WAS there. I was also told by 2 people within the athletic administration that ground breaking would take place right after the season and would be ready by next football season. A number of our players are also of the understanding that it will be ready by next season, as mentioned in a CA article where one player said, practicing in the cold or when it's raining won't be a problem next year when we're in our new indoor facility. I know for a fact Fuente was under the impression it'd be done under his watch (didn't happen), wonder what Norvell was told. Beginning to wonder if the damn thing will ever be built.
