Rockets adopt a can’t-miss attitude

UT showing signs of team to keep eye on

Of note from last night;

JJ - 25 pnts
Sanford - 22 pnts, 4 assists
Justin Roberts — 5 assists in 17 minutes.

That's some pretty good numbers from our guards.

Blue = teams Toledo played
Bold = MAC teams
I was finally able to take in a game last night. Toledo looked sharp. Nice ball movement. Good rebounding. They out hustled Miami. Toledo looked much more athletic. They played like a team. The seniors are leading the team. Sure there were a few lapses of focus, but they looked solid. They kept rolling in spite of a big lead all game. Adway is a really athletic guy. I would really like to see him take his game to the next level. He could be unstoppable with his length and nice athleticism. I hope he plays enough to really develop. I like Navigato's development over a year. Sanford is really developing into a key player.
With a month without Garber, Adway may get that change. Let's hope he responds to more playing time.

Navigato has contributed very little this year. Last night he kind of exploded offensively. Hoping that's the breakout game he needed to be more of a force this year.

This is not what Toledo looked like earlier in the season. They are playing out of their minds right now, but it all starts with the defense. They're attacking the ball, they're disrupting the passing lanes, they're crashing the boards and getting rebounds or knocking the ball out and giving us a chance to pick it up on the outside with hustle. Jalan has even been blocking shots. The offense wouldn't look as good if we weren't playing so hard on defense. FINALLY. And man, do I love it! I just hope we can hang on to our "defensive coordinator." He has head-coach potential. We do seem to play better against the East division, so let's see how we do in the next two games.
I've been pretty constantly grumpy about this team, but they have improved remarkably since the beginning of the season. I've gone from hoping they wouldn't be among the worst in the league to thinking they may become one of the best. Western is awful and Central is nothing special, so there's no reason this can't continue for a while.
I was impressed with the unselfishness last night - keep it going - that's on you Coach K.
