In the near term, this lets Joe Espy (one of the 3 biggest trustees against UAB athletics) remain on the board at a minimum. He would have been forced to resign in September had amendment 13 not passed.
We really need to raise a stink about this.

I voted against removing the age limits, but I always vote for age limits or against removing them.
While the age limits may be gone, are the term limits still in? That's still bad to have someone anti for nearly 20yrs on the board

Worst part is that they also are able to help choose their replacements.
Careful what you want. One day there might be a BOT very favorable to UAB that might be wiped out by age and term limits.

One day after I'm dead, maybe.
There was once a board that was so Pro-UAB that Bill Baxley and others ran political campaigns based on saving the mothership from Birmingham takeover... right? 03-wink

Ironically (I think, if certain versions of the story are to be believed) but for the age limit rule, the football assassination might not have occurred. It might have instead been extended, procrastinated, etc. until someone died and never happened at all.

Instead, there was a deadline that had to be met.
