Dave West wrote an interesting article today and he made some good points.
First let me give Dave a shout out.. very good article.
The article and I will not quote much because reading it yourself is the best thing to do and it gives Dave traffic.
Dave said "UAB is 6-6 get over it" I agree with Dave. A loss in a sporting event played by kids should be viewed from the kids perspective, I believe they tried and wanted to win .
After a game like Texas losing so badly it's easier to find the negative because we either heard it or we saw it.
There's no way to sugar coat it we had our butts kicked.
My only disappointment is in my opinion we are not playing like a veteran team. Yes Nick could make a difference and yes we may have won a couple of more games.
Should we be 9-3, 8-4...who knows...The games that most disappointed me was the Southern, Auburn and the Furman games all for reasons I won't take up time explaining, but we are 6-6....and I can't wait to see the team play again.
Go Blazers, rebounder2u
The Auburn and Memphis games are the biggest disappointments for me. We were good enough to beat both teams and we fell apart at the end. The Texas game we just gave midway through. That's a big concern. This team is talented enough to be a top 4 team in CUSA but they also seem to be undisciplined enough to finish in the middle of the pack or worse. The conference portion of the schedule will say a lot about our veteran players and Ehsan.

Agree Coach, his staff and the team needs to man up...
The players are not kids. No one gets a juice box after the game.
We don't have anyone where we want them. Outside of one or two players, our team is soft. They don't play disciplined. They don't play defense. They collapse in games they should win. This team hasn't really grown very much from two years ago, and that's the most disappointing thing of all. The coaching hasn't been impressive.

Two years ago, with this talent and depth, I'm sure we were all thinking we were building a mid major monster team. Nothing has carried over year to year, and the team hasn't shown any growth. We would've won two more games with nick. He is by no means the cure all to what ills this team. There are A LOT of issues.

Agreed!!! I can't stand it when fans call them "kids". These are young MEN for Gods sake. They can handle the pats on the back and accolades, they should be able to handle some criticism for their poor play. And they've had a LOT of poor play this year. That being said I will continue to go to the games, wear the hats and shirts, and yell myself hoarse at games.

We've been a low major for awhile.

Our team isn't low major quality though.

Get skunked with the 4th worse loss in history & the MBB twitter account is highlighting a dunk by Dirk.

That's their job. They are doing it.
What are they supposed to highlight. A dunk by the other team?
Back in the day they would update you on the score as the game progressed.
First if you have ever been in any men locker room, kids children, young people would describe most of the college kids.
We have teens on the team my point being these youngsters are college kids and they are trying to win...I focus more on the men paid to get these kids to play mature winning basketball. Coaching is going to have to improve.
Now I will move on from the drivel spewed by MB who is impulsive and at times take a derailment detour instead of adding substance.
Answer makes a better point that the expectation for the team are not being met. In my opinion thats coaching but some transitional growing pain was expected but not this much.

I agree with your last point. The main and maybe only reason we hired ehsan was to "keep the team together" and provide continuity. He's failed so far on that. Lots of time to improve and right the ship, but the early results are bad.

Actually, he has not failed to keep the team together. Unless you count Lionel Love, no one has transferred.

Sorry, more impulsive drivel from me. But at least it is literate drivel.
I meant both keep the team together and provide continuity/continued success

We were all told that Ehsan had to stay or players were leaving. I don't know how true that was, but this hire was made by the boosters, not Ingram. There were several established head coaches that had interest, but we chose the guy with no experience. And to the shock and awe of everybody, we look like a team being coached by a first year head coach, especially after losing our floor general. This stuff happens.

My hope is we still have enough talent here to do some damage in conference. We played a very solid ooc schedule, so that should theoretically toughen us up. Will we turn the corner? I don't have a damn clue at this point.
