...when you celebrate last second overtime wins over SWAC teams, as if you have accomplished something.

I was an advocate for Ehsan, but he needs to light a fire, and soon. He's lost the team before he even had them.
Yeah, it's obviously way too early to make a judgement on Ehsan, but to this point he has certainly appeared to be in over his head. If he fails, I'll eat crow because I was a fan of his promotion as much as anyone.
I love how everyone is saying it's too early to judge Ehsan, BUT and then follows with a judgment

Too early to judge whether or not he will ultimately be a successful head coach or not. Not too early to judge his performance to this point.
It's way too early to make a final conclusion on Coach Ehsan, BUT the early results aren't good.

That's a totally fair statement to make.
I'm still waiting on him to really show some fiery passion on the sideline. Light into the team & get in players' faces when they aren't playing with effort.

I know it's tough to judge a 1st year coach when he loses his point guard 1st game. But this team has too much talent to be playing this way.
Ehsan gets a pass in year 1. End of Discussion.

Pass year one? Well the main reason many wanted Ehsan was because of continuity. He was supposed to keep the team together and build on the seasons we had. If the coach gets a pass the first year, we could have hired someone from the outside risking defections. I'm not calling for his head, just not agreeing with the pass nonsense.

I'm not sure I see a middle ground.

If you are not calling for his head, then you are giving him a pass.

Unless of course your are literally not calling for his head as in a decapitation.

When I see people say give him a pass, I take it as saying that his performance doesn't matter. I don't think his performance is fireable at this point, but there is a point.

Exactly...everyone calling for the Eshan hire said he could "hold the team together"...that's like hiring a coach who can bring in a big recruit or two and do little more...Eshan has ZERO experience as a HC - why should his current record surprise anyone?...maybe he'll make it long term and I hope he does but as far as "holding the team together" he blows...we could have hired an experienced mid-major head coach or a long time SEASONED assistant...we chose not to
This board is going to implode before the end of the season. We'd be 9-3 if Nick wasn't hurt and nobody would (should) be bitching.

See y'all next August when football starts.
The box score from last nights game indicates that Coach Ehsan put a lot of our younger players on the court who, I believe, need necessary in game experience against a quality opponent that will eventually help and strengthen this team and give them more depth as the season progresses. Don't get your panties in a wad.
Some things that really stand out to me that you would think would've been at least partially corrected by coaching and development this late in their careers - Lee's blind swatting at every shot at the rim, leaving offensive rebounds open or other cutters open, and Cokleys propensity for foul trouble. Why have these issues not been addressed? I really don't think either of them have improved in those areas since they were freshmen.

Agree.
Lots of panties in a wad.

People also have short memories. No one is saying that our record is acceptable BTW before words are put in our mouths again.

Darling looks like he is ready for a lot more PT.
Addressing the problem doesn't always fix the problem. Ehsan said he were aware of Lee's issue and addressing it. Cokely's minutes have drastically reduced in the past few games. I am guessing that they are losing playing time (and then pouting and playing soft as a result) because they are not doing what they are instructed.

Cokley's fouls don't bother me too much. He's a big guy and going to foul. He has 29 fouls on the season, which is 2 less than Mehinti and three more than Dirk and Madison (who plays a lot less minutes).

Lee's lack of fouls is a concern to me. I heard a coach say once that a big man who doesn't get fouls isn't trying on defense. It is amazing that he can block as many shots as he does without getting a foul, but he only has 15 fouls on the season. Only Watts, Smallwood and Darling have fewer. I would guess most of those fouls are from trying to block a shot rather than actuall defending a man.
Might not help when the whole damn program's slogan for the season emphasizes our block shot capabilities. Doesn't even matter if we get skunked, they promote the block shot or two that happens in the game.

The promotion is only a problem because we are sitting at .500. No one complained about the Steal Mill campaign when they promoted a steal or two. Because we were winning.
