I guess he's become a top priority since we've missed on everyone else.

Any news on Gueye?

None. Despite him telling multiple sites he is committing in the early period all signs are pointing towards him holding out for more offers in to the spring. Can't blame him I suppose.

There is always the possibility that most youngsters are aware of only a few schools that are in their sphere. When they begin to get attention from more distant schools, it can introduce some confusion that takes more time to sort out. I had a female student at WEHS who came to me with a letter from Wellesley College and asked if I had knew of it. She decided to accept the offer from Vandy.

there was no reason to state it was a female student. if it had been a male student then it would be important and I would have advised him to go. Female to male ratio 2,747 to 1.

Yeah, he was going to commit. Then he posted a pick with Rick Pitino on Twitter the same week, so I guess he's waiting to see if the interest from Louisville alerts other schools to his potential.

I'm guessing since he didn't commit right away to Louisville that he's a fallback guy for them.

He is. Louisville's beat writer tweeted out pretty much exactly that some weeks back. Something along the lines of Pitino might take a flyer on him if others didn't work out. It was pretty dismissive but it's Louisville and they can be that way and kids will still fight to play for them.

One of the Aspire Academy's staff members worked with Louisville basketball in the recent past so you can imagine he's getting pushed to wait until the spring.

Consider this...

Ehsan and his staff walked in to a very difficult situation this past spring. One would think having just won 26 games we would have solid momentum going in to the Summer recruiting season. That would have been the case if Haase and Wulbrun were still at UAB.

Look at Alex Reese for example. Wulbrun and Haase were his guys. They had been all in on him since 2014. All of the sudden they are gone and Ehsan is left picking up the pieces of a relationship that had been built over many years. The same can be said with Herb Jones.

Ehsan, and give him credit for it, didn't give up on Reese. He stayed with him all the way up to Reese deciding to go to Alabama. The time Ehsan spent chasing Reese was time he couldn't spend chasing other recruits. Our commitment to Reese effected every single post-type player we missed on these past few months. That was a risk they were willing to take and unfortunately it didn't work out.

Taveion hasn't been so high on our radar for a lot of different reasons and it's not because he's thought less of. We spent months chasing higher rated players at his same position because once again, we were trying to capitalize on the progress that had been made by the former staff.

The state of Kentucky doesn't get near the exposure that other Southern states do by the recruiting services. Scout has him as a 3 star and that's worth taking to the bank. Scout, in my opinion, is the most reputable and consistently accurate of all the services.
If Haase was here, I think we would have Reese.

And Herb.
Stan and WKU just offered him to counter us.

Knock CUSA all you want but it's about to get a lot more competitive on and off the court.

WKU backup plan. They had a 5 star guard visit for their Hilltopper Hysteria preseason event and he didn't commit. So, ...
any shot at landing Elijah joiner?

Ooops I was thinking of Evan Gilyard. We are no longer recruiting Joiner.
we need to start landing some of these recruits, HCRE needs to prove he can recruit like Haase.
That's funny. Maybe he should hire himself as an assistant.
