We still have 9 teams alive in this. Obviously it will trickle down as the season progresses. It's not anything official but still interesting.

Texas A&M, Alabama and Tennessee still solidly in the discussion.

Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Florida are on the fence.

South Carolina eliminated this week.
The contenders as I see it.

Alabama, A&M, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Clemson, Louisville, Stanford, Washington & Houston.

As of today my CFP picks would be 1) Alabama, 2) Ohio State, 3) Louisville & 4) Stanford

5) Wisconsin
6) Clemson
7) Houston
8) Michigan
9) A&M
10) Washington

I think that the SEC, B1G & ACC champs are locks for 3 of the 4 spots, unless a conference tanks over the last two months. I can see 1 of these 3 conferences getting 2 in. I'm tempted to put Wisconsin at #4 right now over Stanford.
Yeah I agree, but I gotta go with Wisconsin over Stanford.

1. Alabama- Defending champ, couple of solid wins early.
2. Louisville- Obliterated FSU.
3. Ohio State- destroyed Oklahoma, they look good.
4. Wisconsin - beat LSU and destroyed Michigan State.

5. Houston- They struggled against Cincinnati. I watched the game. Cincy turned the ball over and Houston scores on them. The final score might have been ugly but Houston was not 24 points better than Cincinnati that night. They were losing in the 4th qtr. That win over Oklahoma still carries some weight, but if Oklahoma continues to lose they'll drop.

6. Clemson- can jump into the top 4 with win over Louisville. They haven't been impressive early.

7. Texas A&M- Easily a top 7 team based off of resume'.

8. Stanford- McCaffrey gets shut down and they lose big to a good opponent.

9. Michigan- We'll know more about them when they play someone.

10. Tennessee- they have struggled but they find ways to win. They destroyed Florida in the 2nd half. Beat Virginia Tech who looks better under Fuente.

That's my top 10 right now. Still a lot of season left to play.
If both Louisville and Alabama win all regular season games, who would be #1 for the playoffs? Alabama are the champs until proven otherwise. But on the other hand, would anyone play the number of top ten schools that Louisville had to play? Possibly top 5 schools if Houston can sneak in there before they play each other.

As of now I'd rank the top 10 as:
1. Alabama
2. Louisville
3. Ohio State
4. Michigan
5. Wisconsin
6. Texas A&M
7. Houston
8. Clemson
9. Stanford
10. Washington

I have no problem with Ohio State at 3. But, Michigan is grossly overrated at 4.
That was quick.

As expected Stanford gets smashed.

Washington looked pretty solid, especially defensively.

U Dub was impressive as was Clemson. Louisville's QB looked very immature, but talented
