Zero vision, zero leadership. If they had any they would have picked up 4 teams by now Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati and USF. That would give them easy recruiting bases for Ohio and Florida instead of further dipping into Texas, easy divisions, Texas, Baylor, Texas tech, OSU, OU, Kansas, Kansas State and WVU, Cincy, ISU, Houston, Memphis, USF and TCU. But they will wait... Everyone on this board knows is true.. wait there is no one on this board. Cause no one cares about the big 12...
Lol...
Imo if Texas just left the b12 so the b12 could just go on about its own buisness

A whole lot you know. When I graduated KU we were in the Big 8, everyone got along(except Missouri Occasionally) and we worked together and had a healthy respect toward our Brothers. Since Texas came into our collective lives they caused so much trouble-almost Immediately we knew as long as we were to exist KU would be Texas "special" Target.
I wish we had never made that demon deal. We would all be together again.
I think think Texas should go their own way before they are allowed to run things for the entire rest of the conference. They seem to run the show, but could leave at any time and leave everyone else worse off.

Adding the Texas schools was a mistake. Their conference failed for a reason and the Big 12 inherited a lot of their own internal problems.
It's really interesting to see this topic 5 years on from when it was posted...

The mentioned teams 'Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati and USF' have all gone on to develop, as has the whole AAC to be fair.

But the Big12 has largely been fine without them.
Stagnant, but fine.

This is demonstrated in the revenues--
Looking at the last year before the pandemic, the Big 12 had over $550million in total sports revenue...

But in 2016, at the time this topic started, the Big 12 had just over $300million in total sports revenue...

Clearly a big improvement.

So sometimes we, as fans, feel the need to want to see something new, something different. But when you look at the numbers in enrollment, attendance or revenue (the things that the colleges actually care about), the Big 12 has been doing an overall good job.

Actually it will be interesting to see the B12 without the 800lb gorilla (and the 500lb gorilla).

Yep, exactly why the B12 MUST expand now, to AT LEAST, 12 teams, but more preferably 14 to expand their footprint and market value.

B12 actually moved pretty quickly, assuming invites go out next week. Hopefully new schools can arrange for a 2023 start date. 04-cheers
The Big12 will survive (and thrive) without Texas and Oklahoma. UC, UCF, BYU and Houston bring Top 25 caliber football and the basketball will be phenomenal!

Texas and Oklahoma came with high maintenance costs. I'm not sure they were worth it.
Not so fast my friend...

Gotta love it when outsiders take the time to come in here and throw dirt.

Makes you wonder what they are scared of.
There’s no denying the value of OU and UT. And I’ll miss the long history with OU - that’s the sad part of all this realignment madness, as many schools (even those in the “big 4” conferences) have come to realize. But if we get these additions to the Big XII, it should be a fun and competitive league.

HOGWASH!!!

I admit I was pissed off back in 2016. A bitter pill to swallow indeed. Now, it's milk and honey baby. Take us to the promised land!

Wait. Is Ohio Poly a Cincy fan? Nice, man! We can talk sports and I can give you positive rep points!

(I always thought you were a decent guy; that damned Spin Room can make an otherwise mild-mannered guy like myself hot tempered.)

Welcome, buddy. 04-cheers
