Mike Bianchi talks about UCF's potential.

And I think he has some pretty good points.

Of course, this is relevant to the expansion discussion. If the Big 12 is seriously considering UCF then it would have to be based on their potential, the large market, and the fertile recruiting grounds. UCF has a lot going for it that many other schools don't even though the program isn't that old.

All of those are actually reasons I wouldn't mind UCF in the SEC assuming the Big 12 does not fall apart.

What do you folks think about the potential of UCF and whether or not they would make a good P5 member?

Why are all of these programs saying things like this?

ECU is gonna deliver the entire state of North Carolina.
UCF claiming the Big 12 better not miss out on the next HUGE thing. They say that every game would be like Ole Miss vs FSU yet they have avged 28k for their entire 1A existence.

I'll have to see all of the other promises from other schools lol.

I agree with X & HOD. And what's more, here's why. Higher ed apportionment in every state is going to shrink. UCF and USF will always be the 3rd & 4th mouth at the trough. They may grow. They may have a large alumni base. But, the alumni of the future won't have the earning potential or the savings & stock portfolio's of those of the past. Florida and then Florida State were built on more substantial underpinnings than any school growing today will be able to acquire. So UCF of tomorrow can be a bigger school, but it will not be likely that they will ever be as well funded of a school. Therefore they cannot be the next F.S.U.

There is also a disconnect among the folks that attend these schools.

I have two cousins currently at UCF, one that is a scholarship athlete, and both are FSU fans and couldn't give a crap about UCF football.

Wouldn't be an awful move for the big 12 but no way are they the next FSU
