PAC signs deal with FOX Sports Australia to broadcast games
It's the wave of the future. We've seen pro leagues marketing themselves internationally for several years now. I guess it's time for the colleges to do the same.
You have to hand it to the folks at the PAC. They keep trying to find a market for their product. They have already looked in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington and haven't found a market yet.
Maybe if FOX can prove that they can market the PAC somewhere else that the schools might give them the opportunity in the US. This could be the first step in selling their network.
All jokes aside, the real story here is the precedent that's being set.
Other leagues will be doing this soon enough. You can bank on that.
Europe, Asia, Australia...all will be markets that the conferences try to tap.
I know they have had some issues recently but especially after their BCS appearance I thought situations like these were reasons why the PAC might eventually look to Hawaii in expansion. Hawaii at that point had decent football and would serve as a connection to markets like Australia or the big one in China. Likely? Probably not, but not beyond the realm of possibility.
