How many would be up to tailgates this fall? How many could come to the Mon Aug 29th at BBVA? I would take off & do something simple but would need some kind of headcount

I'd guess I would bring 5 total hungry mouths to feed.
I can be there.
I will be there with 2 more.
I'll definitely be around.
Ok so looks like roughly in the dozen or so range so worthwhile for me to take off & do something. I'll post closer to the "season opener" a BT tailgate thread & people can chime in if they're coming & if they're going to bring something, it'll be simple for this one since it's on a Mon so some will be coming from work. Does anyone know the other dates/matching location yet for the LF/OTM ones?
Am I the only one for whom the move to Monday night is a bit of a buzzkill?
Damn, I didn't realize it was a Monday night.
Move it to Monday night and you cut the attendance by three quarters and kill any idea of tailgating.

Our athletic department never misses a chance to miss a chance.

Since that is the Monday before the Labor Day weekend, it will be a "school night" as well. That and possible weather issues become attendance factors.
August 29th is probably the best time to do it. The last move-in date for students is August 28th. They're doing it on the Monday to create a buzz before the rest of the college football world starts playing. Seating capacity at BBVA isn't that great, so the stands will be packed.

I still think it's a mis-step. The stands may be "packed", but there would have been a much larger crowd on Saturday.

Monday night will make it much more difficult for people who work...which would be most of the people making and paying pledges (regardless of how big or how small).

The more imponderable factors one adds to the mix, the more uncertain the turnout. You start with the weather, then add "school night" (or "church night" midweek), student turnout, getting elderly fans there, etc. (like above) and cross your fingers.
Hey, I know I speak only for myself, but this actually works BETTER for me than 11 AM on a Saturday would!
I'll have to take a day off to attend. It's 11 hours round trip for me.
Fly up & make it one of your X countries w/ your instructor maybe get some actual IFR to boot if weather is bad that day???
Don't tempt me.
Another temptation is you'd log night hrs as well on the return trip - do it
Not ready for that.
