This has nothing to do with our Tribe but all followers of sport will love to look at this. So I post it for everyone's enjoyment.

A fellow named Don Stokes is a wonderful researcher of old sports film/photos (he retouches in color old baseball prints) and somehow he found this 81-year old, never seen before 30+ second old film of a Babe Ruth homer.

Ruth was 40 years old on April 7, 1935 and going in to his final big league season (with the Boston Braves) when he played in this exhibition game at the old Newark (NJ) Bears ballpark. It is the only film of a Ruth home run
I've ever seen with such clarity, both of the film and, especially, the sound.

You hear the crack of the bat, the excited crowd reaction and, if you listen closely, can hear a fan yell "it's gone". Watch closely and you can see the ball soar over the right field fan bleachers and out of the ball park.

A wonderful film from an era long gone and a great player. Enjoy.

Wow. Amazing! Is that the only video AND audio clip we've ever had of a Ruth HR?

Thank you for posting!
It's great how the media comes out to within a few feet of home plate to take pictures.
