It needed some more proof reading, but here it is.

Only skimmed it. One surprise I noticed was that Monique Evans is no longer on the team. Also, we have a full 15 player roster this season. I think that's only happened 1 other time (12-13) in the last 15 years or so.
Monique Evans: wonder her plans? Army full time? Had great academic goals. If not still here, I hope she finds a place to play and get her education.
I don't know. Unless one of the newcomers develops into the next Naama, I don't see us getting that far in the MAC tourney this year. Sure, we may win some regular season games but I just don't see the talent on that roster to get us into the NCAAs...

5' tall walk-ons not being on the roster never surprise me. Especially if we have a full roster.
Someone in the media needs to ask Cullop why she has never been to the NCAA Tournament in 16 years as a head coach. I think it's a legit question for a coach that is paid very well, has top notch MAC facilities and other advantages other schools in our conference don't have.

Great question. MOB should be asking too.
How exactly do you word a question like that and what answer is "legit?" Certainly it is in the realm of the AD and certainly a good topic for an interview, but tough to breach in a comfortable way, a way that doesn't sour relationships. Coach Cullop is a good coach at the least and seems a great campus and community leader. What is that worth?

Agree about the positives. Someone at the Blade should do a story about her struggles to get into the NCAA's. I don't think that's an out of bounds discussion. Same for K who has never been there.
The Rocket women will be very strong this year. I'm not going to say that they will make the tournament, since that takes some luck in a one-bid conference, but I think our chance is as good as anyone's.

I agree, not out of bounds and depending upon the personality of the coach, probably interesting or a complete disaster. Just ... can't imagine how to begin and carry such an interview, what the goals are other than accusation. How would the interviewer pose the questions without putting the coach on the defensive, resulting in coach-speak and non-committal responses?

Most likely the obvious isn't occurring to me but I think it would have to be a very skilled, very personable interviewer?

Talking about Reaching the Women's NCAA Tournament. Here is an interesting Fact: Since Toledo Women's Basketball team has last appeared in the NCAA Tournament (2001) There Have been 14 Mac Women's Basketball team appear in the NCAA tournament (14 out of 16 teams). The only Team not to appear is Northern Ill. One team (bring Myself to Mention that School) has appeared 5 times and Eastern Mich has appeared twice over this same time span.

During time span Toledo Has only had two (2) Women's Basketball Head Coaches. The other School's have changed Coaches multiple times (moving on or firing). With Toledo Women's track record over this time span I see Toledo Finishing third in the MAC West behind Central and Eastern with Central Winning the MAC Tournament and Advancing onto the NCAA tournament.
This press release is just a Feel Good Story!!
It's remarkable that only NIU has a longer NCAA drought than the Rockets, but I don't think it makes sense to make predictions about the coming year based on the history of NCAA appearances during the last fifteen years. If you were going to do that, then you'd pick Bowling Green to win the conference. And every team's prospectus is a feel-good story; that's just the nature of the beast. Toledo will field a talented team this year.
