D1Baseball.com with a nice writeup on Northeastern pitcher Aaron Civale: http://www.d1baseball.com/analysis/prosp...le-rising/
Yeah I saw this a few days ago when the team tweeted the link.

Only problem is I don't subscribe to D1 Baseball, so unfortunately I can't read the rest of it.
The 2016 amateur draft begins tomorrow and concludes Saturday.

NU has two starters who are predicted to be selected in the first 10 rounds in Aaron Civale and Dustin Hunt.

Jim Mulry could also get picked as well.

Here's Civale's draft video on mlb.com.
Civale to the Indians in the 3rd round (# 92 overall).

First CAA player taken this year.
You beat me to the punch SN08!

Congrats to Aaron and best of luck!

Second NU player to possibly play for the Tribe (C Luke Carlin also played for Clev.).
Nice job by NESN doing a story on Civale before the draft.

On the year, he's 10-2, 2.59 ERA and earned his fifth straight win for the Lynchburg (High-A) on Aug. 24th.
Civale is pitching for Cleveland’s Double-A affiliate Akron and is off to a great start.

In two starts, he’s 1-0 with a 0.93 ERA.

Civale’s last start Wednesday vs. Binghamton, his line was 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 7 K.

One of those K’s was Tim Tebow ...

At this rate, he very well could be recalled on September 1st IMO.

I root for players from the CAA. A pitcher from UNCW made has MLB debut at the Yankees two days ago. As for Civale being promoted, he isn't on the 40 man roster yet. Since Cleveland leads the AL Central by 11.5 and trails the other AL division leaders by 7.5 and 9.5, they could have meaningless games at the end to use young players.

Tebow strikes a lot. He's hitting better in Double A this year than he did in A and A Advanced last year, but he's not close to MLB level. He is hitting much better than another multi-sport athlete, Michael Jordan, did in Double A in 1994.
Civale got his 1st win of the season, going 6 IP, 7 H, 2R, 2 ER, 1BB, and career-high 9 Ks in the Indians 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Aaron Civale was great once again, but got no run support in the Indians 3-1 loss vs the Twins.

Civale went 6 innings, allowing 5 H, 3 ER, 0 BB and 9 K's ... it was his 2nd straight 9 strikeout performance.

But once again, he got no run support in the Tribe's 2-0 loss (7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K's).

He's 1-2 with a 2<84 ERA 23 K's in 3 starts ...

Civale finished '20 4-6. 4.74 ERA in 12 starts. He gave up 8 ER in his final start vs Pittsburgh that ballooned his ERA.

Tribe names WC starters; Civale to bullpen

The Indians have chosen their three starters for the Wild Card Series: Shane Bieber, Zach Plesac and Carlos Carrasco. Bieber will toe the rubber in Game 1 against the Yankees, but the Tribe is still working through the order for Games 2 and 3. With Aaron Civale out of the running for the rotation, he will prepare for a move to the bullpen.

On Friday, Indians pitching coach Carl Willis said that Civale will be working in relief for the Wild Card Series, which begins on Tuesday. Should the team advance beyond the first round, Civale will move back into his regular starting role.

“It's a tough decision,” Willis said. “It's a tough situation when you have a three-game series, and we feel like we have an advantage with the depth of our rotation, and having to make decisions with who's not going to be a part of it in a three-game series.”

Since being selected by the Indians in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Civale has yet to work out of the bullpen, making 74 starts in the Minors and 21 in the Majors. He’d be the obvious choice to be used if Cleveland runs into trouble early with one of its starters, but Willis said Civale could be more than just a long-relief option for the team.

“He's not a guy that's going to be down there to give us length in case we get down early,” Willis said. “We see him as more than that. He could potentially come in in leverage situations, and obviously, once we get beyond the Wild Card round, he's back in the rotation, as he will be next year. So difficult decisions.”

Civale still has one regular-season outing left on Saturday against the Pirates. But because of the quick turnaround to be ready to be used out of the bullpen on Tuesday, the Indians are expecting to put Civale on a pitch limit for his final start.

“We haven't determined what exactly that number is going to be,” Willis said, “but [we're] not going to overwork him so he'll be available on Tuesday.”
Aaron Civale got his 1st win of 2021 by beating the Tigers 9-3.

It was the longest outing by a Tribe starter in the early season, tossing seven innings while allowing 3 runs on 2 hits... both homers... with 3 walks and 6 K's.

After getting no-hit by Carlos Rondon and the White Sox, Aaron Civale picked up his 3rd win, as the Indians beat Chicago 4-2.

Civale (6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) is now 3-0 with a 2.18 ERA.
