From Twitter - Charlotte NC UT Alumni meet to see Mudhens play. Why are five of them wearing UM shirts? But, I shouldn't be surprised, we see the same thing (when you include tOSU) at FB and BB games in Toledo.
Sickening posers.
At least it is blue

Pretty rare anymore. I see waaaay more UT stuff. I recall a couple getting off the alumni bus in Pitt years ago in full OSU regalia- buckeye necklaces, hats, sweatshirts, etc. Nowadays I'll see a couple t-shirts at a basketball game, maybe one or two at football.

Imagine living in Carolina looking for a Rockets shirt?

All the free t's so generously donated by local corps, maybe ought to send some down to Carolina. I have half dozen UT shirts but only one from my alma-mater and that only because someone in the alum office sent it to me. Couldn't imagine being able to buy one here, even if I did have a reason to wear it.
Got some clarity from Twitter feed

Sorry for the confusion, but this was a joint event with Michigan alumni. But thanks for supporting our Rockets!

Really shouldn't matter who is there- they should be wearing UT shirts. With maybe 13-10 on it.

Here's some clarity from somebody (me) who was there and not in this picture because the guy with the banner didn't show up until after the game started...

The Charlotte Knights have three main group areas if you get group tickets including a pregame buffet meal. The Knights put various groups together based on how many tickets you sold and the capacity of the buffet area. On Saturday, there were a ton of groups at the game and the Knights put us together with the Michigan alumni group and the group outing from the satellite campus of Northeastern University.

Like I said, the alum who has that banner didn't get there until after the game began and I have no idea when that picture was taken. I was there, along with about 15 other UT people, around 5 p.m. and we went to our seats shortly after first pitch. The fact that they took the pic with the Michigan stragglers who were still hanging around the buffet area is bad enough, but that UT posted it on social media is awful. The only UT person in the picture is the guy who brought the banner, who I never saw on Saturday and didn't even know was at the game until this picture was posted.

The Michigan people were really nice. The other UT people were great, as always, and even without much organization from the school or our local alumni leaders, I approached anybody in the buffet area pregame that had UT gear on. Maybe we should have taken our own picture before heading to our seats!
I had a call with the alumni office earlier today and this boils down to an unfortunate case of miscommunication. There were plenty of UT alums at the game and the alumni office is taking steps to make sure something like this (the local leader not connecting with the attendees) doesn't happen again. It's unfortunate about the post, but it was fun hanging out with fellow UT alums and former NW Ohioans on Saturday night.

You know, it's not that hard. I will use this pause to allow you a gander at my username and location.

Now, my own personal issue is, I make our old blowup mascot look like a Hooters girl - my size is hard to find everywhere. Most shirts that fit my shoulders tend to stop at my belly button. But, I have also browsed around looking enough to know that anyone who is of a normal build can find whatever they want online and have it shipped to Carolina for a few bucks.

Would it be easier to buy OSU or UM gear (or UNC for that matter) that fits? Sure. What do I do? I go to the local tentmaker (also known as the Big and Tall store), get blank tee shirts and do it myself with a homemade screenprinting setup (it's actually really easy). I've worn my "lucky" shirt to several home games when I've been back to UT and nobody's asked me how cheap it was, so I guess it works.

All that to say - if my big ol' Carolina butt can rock some Rocket gear, those guys are douchebags.

There was plenty of Rockets and Mud Hens gear at the baseball game, just not in that picture (see my previous posts).

Also, I buy all my UT clothing online. I can't remember the last time I bought fan clothing of any kind in a physical store.
I let it be known any Rocket gear would be an appropriate gift for Father's
Day, Birthday, Christmas, etc. This has worked well for all involved parties.
Michigan fans still bearing the humiliation of losing to Toledo in football.

Most are in denial that it ever happened.

It can be hard to gather things up at an event at times. I struggle with it here in Fort Wayne too. Sometimes you put in a lot of work and it flops. Sometimes your own life gets in the way and you cannot attend.

Totally agree that it is the runner of the Twitter feed that dropped the ball. But if you get something on your phone maybe u do not look too close before tweeting.

Love the Alumni staff. They have always been helpful.
The thing is, the event didn't flop! There were A LOT of UT people there. I won't post more about it and I've already talked to the people I know in the alumni office and we had a very nice, constructive conversation. But it was just disappointing that so many UT people were there and we never saw the banner, never saw the local leader, yet saw on social media a picture of Michigan people holding the UT banner.

That is a serious issue in which I sincerely hope the Alumni Department never does again. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to post a picture of a group of people in Michigan gear up on the University of Toledo's alumni page? Stupid!!

If that's the case, you shouldn't be in charge of an official Twitter feed. You always have to triple check your posts on social media so you don't post anything stupid.
I thought twittering equates with posting stupid?

Guess I'm just old.
