Nathan Boothe scored 12 points and played a team high 31 minutes in Mike Duman Auto’s 101-86 victory over Sales System LTD in the first round of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament played in front of professional scouts from the NBA and Europe. His team will face Roger Brown's Restaurant tonight at 7:00 PM in a Semi-Final Game. Booth’s teammates include Abel Nader from Iowa State, Elgin Cook from Oregon and Shaq Goodwin from Memphis.
I caught about 5 minutes of the game on ESPN3. Boothe still looked like he was trying to win the game for the team. He was setting screens left and right, and was literally the only one doing that. Everyone else trying to show off their skills for the scouts. Boothe only touched the ball once in those minutes. Hopefully he got a chance to show his skills at other times and in the rest of the games.
Boothe's team ended up 1-2 in the Tournament in which he averaged 11.3 points, 5 rebounds and over 30 minutes playing time per game. That ranked him 24th in points, 23rd in rebounding and 5th in game minutes played out of 64 players that saw action.
