Wow! As much as I dislike Harper I feel for the guy a little bit. Of course, if this turns out to be a real mess and its found that he was in the middle of it he needed to go...

Imagine if WKU had won the CUSA tourney...

This will be a big rivalry for us in the near-term. We need to blast them each time we play them next year.
Quote:"Federal law prevents us from public discussion of any details related to student disciplinary cases," WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart said.

Unless their suspension was for academic fraud, that's a bald-faced lie. FERPA only applies to what happens in the classroom, yet colleges, and especially athletics departments, repeat this lie again and again.
Interesting. Sounds significant. Glad he's gone. One of the most obnoxious CUSA coaches bar none.
A source on Twitter is floating the rumor that Chris Harrison-Docks turned in Harper for the violations.

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised actually. He doesn't strike me as a coach of high moral character. More of a win at any cost type. If true could mean major sanctions for WKU.
Document dump on the afternoon of the first day of the NCAA tournament.

GN, would that privacy language apply if it were something like sexual assault?
Cal Berkeley fired an Assistant Head Coach for sexual harassment on Monday, and their top scorer broke his hand in practice yesterday and is done for the season.

The question is how much did the Head Coach know and do about the sexual harassment complaint?

I realize we aren't at that stage but this situation brings me to a question. If this were to come to where WKU had to vacate their wins from the season, how does that impact UAB's record? I know in essence it has very little real meaning, but curious how this impacts records.

In other words, in reality we lost 2 games this season to WKU. If those wins are vacated does that give UAB 2 more wins or does it simply take away 2 losses from our official record and leave our win total the same?

I don't think indirectly affected teams get wins when the offending program has to vacate them. It's not like they forfeited, after all. We played them and lost so I believe we keep those L's regardless. Probably at most it'd just be an asterisk next to the games or something.

I believe the losses still count for us, they just vacate all wins. I could be remembering incorrectly though.

So what about with respect to our series record with WKU? Does that remain the same if WKU has to vacate wins for the season as well?
We lost to Memphis twice who vacated the 2008 season. We did not get those losses back. Our record remained the same. On the other hand, at some point in the mid 1990's, we lost to Auburn, who subsequently had to forfeit their wins. Officially our record changed that year from 14-16 to 15-15. It kept Gene Bartow from officially having a losing season.

I have been able to confirm the suspension of the three WKU players was not academic, nor was it NCAA related

Yikes
Sounds like something serious happened and Harper knew about it and failed to report it or tried to hush it up...
We'll find out soon enough. If that tweet is correct something will most likely turn up at the local police station. Theft, drugs, sexual assault. Point shaving?

Who knows. Have to wait.
Was justin Johnson one of them? Maybe we can beat them next year now
if Johnson wants to transfer, I'd like to see him in Green & Gold on the Southside...
