I post this here to simply inform those who were impressed with the recent success of ULL football.

Quote:The University of Louisiana at Lafayette must vacate 22 wins, including two New Orleans Bowl titles and the shared 2013 Sun Belt Conference championship, it was announced Thursday.

The NCAA Committee on Infractions' ruling is a result of an investigation into alleged improprieties committed by former football assistant coach David Saunders, as reported by The Advocate.

The University will vacate eight wins from the 2011 season, four from 2012, eight from 2013 and two from 2014.

According to the findings, Saunders acted alone in falsifying ACT scores of five prospective student-athletes, per KATC.

"While it is disappointing to vacate these victories and championships, we finally put this chapter behind us and will continue to grow our championship football program," Louisiana-Lafayette athletics director Scott Farmer said in a statement. "We stand behind the integrity and accomplishments of coach Mark Hudspeth, members of his coaching staff and each of our student-athletes who played football during the Hudspeth era."03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

It's funny because that's all Tech fans heard before we crushed them last year in Lafayette.

ULL fans -"We are Sunbelt Champs, back to back NO Bowls Champs... We are going to cream Tech.." Little did we know that ULL had to cheat to even get those accomplishments 03-lmfao

The only real punishment out of all of this. Everything else is either a slap on the wrist or can be manipulated.

Some pertinent quotes from the NCAA findings:

1) Where they not only clear the admin of any wrongdoing, but actually praise them in no uncertain terms:

"The panel commends the institution for its level of cooperation in this case. It expended substantial
institutional resources to expedite a thorough and fair collection and disclosure of information in the case and the institution's president and athletics compliance director both personally invested substantial time and attention to the details of the investigation.

In short, the institution's exemplary cooperation in this case was a model for the kind of relationship and cooperation member institutions should strive for in the infractions process."

2) And the part where they specifically exonerate Hud:

"The case did not involve a failure to monitor or a lack of institutional control. There was also no allegation that the head coach lacked control in this case"

It is because of these two reasons that the damages we have suffered from one rogue coach were not as severe as some thought they would be.
And to the Marshall fan fanning the flames at how UNT, one of the SBC programs brought into CUSA, is lousy in all their sports and dragging the conference down, I will say this: At least we suck honestly, and with integrity. So there!

Considering that the @ Lafayette football program committed academic fraud they weren't punished too severely. They can claim innocence all they want, but if the head coach and AD were unaware of what their employees were doing, they aren't running a very tight ship. Since Saunders didn't testify, what exactly happened is unknown.

Again, WE are not claiming innocence, the NCAA did so. And, in direct contrast to you, they actually did an investigation and looked into facts. They left no stone unturned and had they had the least bit of thoughts that it went as far as you like to constantly say, they would have not only thrown the book at us, they hardly would've given us kudos.

This was the actions of one rogue coach, we should've known and stopped him, and for that we are paying a heavy price.

If you can provide factual evidence to the contrary of this, place do so. If you cannot do so than your statements are worthless and speak only to your character....not ours.

"They left no stone unturned" - LaCajun_fan

As Saunders could not be forced to testify, that stone was unturned. Saunders is the only one who knew exactly what happened.

"we should've known and stopped him" - LaCajun_fan

That is what I said.

I really don't see what this Cajun guy is complaining about regarding my post. He is basically agreeing with me that the @ Lafayette HC and AD should have know what Saunders was doing. The only person who knew what Saunders was doing and those that were aware of it is Saunders, and he didn't testify. The Cajuns seem all in in hoping that the NCAA puts the hammer down on Ole Miss, Saunders' previous coaching gig. If I were them, I would be real careful in what they wish for as they just might get it. If Saunders testifies regarding the Ole Miss deal, it is unknown as to what will come to light about his actions regarding the ACT scores at his coaching stops.
No way Liberty would of done this if they were in the Sun Belt.

As expected, you provide zero facts to back up your claims about there being something that is beyond what is known. Zero.

What we don't agree on is you constantly harping about us being guilty of fraud, etc., which is contrary to the facts and the findings of the NCAA: they specifically exnorated the admin and Hud of being involved in what Saunders was doing. It was Saunders cheating, not us.

But you much prefer to make it sound much worse than what it is.....based on your personal feelings of us.

I wish he would go away, but if I make a post he is going to make an ignorant response right away. Plus he's left me about 60 PMs. He also has called my wife and my mother sluts. I don't like that. Plus, he goes to many boards and calls me a liar, but has never told me what he thinks I have lied about, which I haven't. I don't like that either. The guy is insane. He goes by multiple names - "Vermillion White" "geauxpnc" to name a couple in addition to his name du jour.
lol - come on guys/gals - just leave ulala fans alone.

The only reason I used other names was to try to get posting privileges on the @ruston site. But there about 6 @ruston fans that post on RP, that do not have the same IDs as on the ltu-r site, which yiu always conveniently fail to mention.

I have given, in pm's, irrefutable proof of your numerous lies. Irrefutable. I can post them here, if there is any interest, and with the mod's permission. But I won't hold my breath, lol.
