Wow! So if we were to win both the regular season and the conference tournament it would only be the second time in our history that had happened.
under the list of season championships, are those all outright?
2004 was shared

thats what i was thinking, but didnt want to look it up
Wasn't 11 shared?
Nope
1981 was a tie with VCU
82 was outright
90 was outright

04 was shared with 4 teams
11 was outright

In 1999, Cincinnati finished 1st, Louisville finished 2nd. We were tied for third. We won the National division, but had the third best record. Some may consider that a regular season win, but I don't.
Thought it was. Crazy that we won CUSA outright that year and had some good OOC wins and still barely made it in.

I'm with you on '99...I blindly went with our wiki page there...bad move on my part
In 2004, 5 teams tied for the regular season title: UAB, Louisville, Cincy, DePaul, and Charlotte (if I remember right), and they ALL got into the NCAA Tournament.

This year, the outright champion won't get in without a tournament title as well.
You're right, it was five that tied, not four. I had to go back and check. The five teams were UAB, Memphis (not Louisville), Cincy, DePaul and Charlotte. All finished 12-4. Louisville finished 9-7, but also got in giving CUSA 6 teams in the tournament.

DePaul, Memphis UAB and Cincinnati advanced to the round of 32. Only UAB made it to the Sweet 16 by upsetting Kentucky.
