UAT has a very nice resume. They have won three tough games in a row.
When's the last time (if ever) 3 teams from Alabama made the tournament in the same year?
I believe it happened in the 80's perhaps during the Barkley days.

It may have also happened during the Hodges & Lewis years at South Alabama.

1987. The year I was born.
I believe UAB, Bama, and Bama State all made the tournament in 04.

Yes.

And Alabama, Auburn, and Troy made it in 2003.

And Alabama, UAB, and Alabama A&M made it in 2005.

And Alabama, UAB, and South Alabama made it in 2006.

So that's four consecutive years it happened.

UAT's shot to make Selection Sunday "special" just took a MAJOR hit...the Gumps threw up all over Coleman Coliseum as a bad Miss State team made them LIKE IT

That may put them in a situation where they will have to win out, which will require them to beat UK at Rupp. Whether they get in or not, they've been a lot better this year than anyone expected. Avery Johnson is a heck of a coach. Hopefully he doesn't waste his talent in Tuscaloosa for long.

Howland factor: Alabama just lost its momentum, loses to Mississippi State. Still like the Tide to get this straight and make a run to NCAA.
In normal years SEC teams should finish at worst 8-8 in the conference to have a shot at an NCAA bid.
