Down to 46k square feet.
I thought we'd heard several different numbers from 35 to 50? 46 would be on the higher end of the numbers I have seen.
What was the original plan?

Better than zero
It might change again depending on the architect, who knows?
any old timers know why Camp Hall was called Twin Towers back in the 80's?

My error. In looking back, this is actually slightly larger than I had heard.

My apologies.

hell we are so used to being screwed over bitching about getting the shaft is instinct even when its good news.
This is historic. This will be the first time that UAB Football facilities will be approved by the BOT. This wouldn't have happened had Paul Bryant Jr had still been on the Board.
it wouldn't have happened if the Campaign For UAB donations didn't dry up along with the work of a lot of people.

Don't believe it he is still in control.
The 46,000 sq ft figure was put up against other similar facilities at Troy and another school where theirs was said to be about 60,000 sq ft. Questions were raised at that time about what UAB was going to have to give up to work within the 2/3 area other schools had. Some were (and are) glad to get anything built considering our travail the past year.

For most of us, 46,000 sq ft is huge compared to a 2,000 sq ft house, but then we don't have over 100 football players using our space. We can only hope what is eventually built will be just what we need to draw closer to what our competitors have had for years.
Those of you in town, please go and scowl at the bastards. This is but a concession to get us to stop political activism. Don't forget Finis' PSA for vaccines from last February.

On a happier note, this is a landmark moment for our program.
