I'm a little surprised by this.

Well, at least we know that there is at least one head coach on the list who is of the opinion that C-USA teams are not as weak as the conference rankings suggest.

It's more likely that someone didn't realize we lost and left their ballot the same.

Maybe somebody thinks we're pretty good.

The good news is we have lost only 4 games!
The bad news is that only one of those teams has a winning record (12-10) and the four teams are ranked in 11th, 11th, 11th, & 12th in their respective conferences.

I'm glad someone out there has a higher opinion of our team than some of our fans.

You know I do. We're at 18 with 9 left. The record is 25. We'll beat that and flirt with 30. This is a year of broken records.

I'm pretty sure most of us here believes this is a talented team that has a huge up ceiling. UAB has top 25 talent but hasn't played like a Top 25 team consistently. Playing inferior competition isn't going to make them better unfortunately. Memphis often complained about this when they ran roughshod through a better version of CUSA. I really hope next season UAB can play a more competitive OOC next season.

We need a drastically better OOC schedule.

What has this team done to make you believe it's a top 25 team. How about this for fun, if Alabama had this same record playing the same schedule, would you call it a top 25 team?

I would not...and as much as I hate to say it the Gumps did schedule well in non-conference (opponents current RPI left column):

3 - Oregon - BJCC
4 - Xavier - Neutral
13 - Dayton - AWAY
32 - Wichita State - Neutral
35 - Notre Dame - Neutral

NONE played in Tusca-loser...the Bams went 2-3 in those games and are currently 11-9 (2-6 SEC) with RPI of 53...their team BLOWS and still they have a 53 RPI...for good measure Winthrop and Clemson (on the road) were sprinkled in.

(and before the obvious is stated yes playing in the SEC helps)

I'm not the guru some of you are, but 18-4 sounds pretty good to me on the face of it.

considering how we did this year OOC I don't agree

Smaug, no one is saying we suck, people are just saying that our schedule and our losses do not make for a top 25 resume. It doesnt make for an at-large berth resume either.

I would describe us as a very talented team that plays inconsistently and to the level of it's competition.

Since we have only played teams that sucked, isn't that saying we suck then.
