I like Hatton.

+1

Quote:"We accelerated a bunch of pledges, which is great, but highly unusual to have to do that.

Quote:"I no longer see (Sept. 1, 2016 goal of $8 million) as an objective," Smith said. "I'm not going to spend any time on that. I didn't establish that deadline and I'm not going to ask anybody to advance any more money. I consider that no longer necessary."

Not sure what this means - text replacement error? typo?...
"Among hot topics to be discussed include whether a covered pavilion will be the feasibility of an enclosed pavilion over a practice field leading into the football operations building. The first full Foundation meeting will be in February."

Does this mean something like:
Among hot topics to be discussed include the feasibility of a covered pavilion or an enclosed pavilion over a practice field leading into the football operations building. The first full Foundation meeting will be in February..
I think "or" is the right word there, "of" doesn't make sense.
Looks like he tried to reword the sentence but didn't delete what was already typed.
I think the hot topic is should we have a covered pavilion practice field (which is cheaper) or an enclosed indoor practice field (which costs more)?
Hatton Smith is the man. I love that he has no problem calling out the unusual pledge payment process. I would think if he's making those statements in the media that he's either very confident we'll hit the remaining objectives or we may finally have some reasonable breathing room from the trustees.

That is worthy of discussion. As of now, everything I hear is covered field with open sides. Cheaper. If we want to do better than that we're back around to needing to raise the money.
Any word on the huge pledge from Jimmy Filler made in late May?
I think there were stipulations for an on-campus stadium.
Yes, that was contingent on an OCS. I imagine that Filler will be channeling money through the Football Foundation toward the new stadium. I know of no formal announcement.

fixed a typo after I went to @BlazerTalk :)

Among hot topics to be discussed include the feasibility of an enclosed pavilion over a practice field leading into the football operations building. The first full Foundation meeting will be in February.
Indoor practice facility no questions asked. Anything lesser is Busch league.
I agree. I know what Clark wants.
The design team has been selected. Things will move quickly now. I have worked with the firm before. They should do fine.
