Nice article from Sandusky on Cody Thompson:

http://www.sanduskyregister.com/Football...tball.html

Thompson's season really does put him in the record book a number of times. He now has:

4th longest reception all time (88 yards)
5th best in receiving yards for a sophomore (825)
1st average yards per catch, game (55 vs. EMU)
8th average yards per catch, season (22.3)

He also caught a pass in every game this season, and had 4 games over 100 yards receiving.

It has been 22 years since a UT player averaged 22 yards per catch or more. Cody did it over 37 receptions. Of those in front of him, the most catches anyone had was 19, so it's even more impressive that he kept up that average with twice as many catches.
Nice article on Cody. Love this kid. Have been a huge fan of him all year. He's tough as nails.

Those are some nice numbers and he has two more years
I agree. He's a very talented receiver.

If our receiving corps had just been more consistent...an unbeaten season was within our grasp.
Not bad on recovering on-side kicks too.
Cody plays bigger than 6'1"
As a former QB, we need to work out a throwing play for him.

I agree.

I think he is going to be a special player
He made quite an impression this season. Great effort, good hands, superior open field running, good game speed, tenacious blocking. Love the way he plays.
I think we can all agree - he was probably the biggest surprise on the team this year. If he is a sophomore now, does that mean he had virtually no playing time last year as a freshman - or was he ineligible? Did not hear anything about him until this year, but I don't follow the recruiting all that much anymore.
Wasn't highly recruited, because he played qb his last two year of HS. Another hidden gem our coaches found. Loved the way he ran away from the Temple db.

4 catches for 34 yards. Played every game, mostly on special teams.

Yep, played mainly on special teams as a frosh, made an impact there. Heard good things about him, his work ethic, and what he looked like in practice a year ago.
Right now he's one of Candle's best "look at that guy" when talking to recruits. Unheralded. A Candle recruit.
