Not really new info. Heacock probably was waiting for things to be finalized. Going to miss Rasheed more than Heacock.
Looks like Heacock has other options to consider.

So, Tom Manning wasn't the best choice for OC at Toledo, but he's good enough to be OC at Iowa State. Imagine that.

For now. They'll be the first to go if Campbell ever gets in deep trouble.
Part of being a good head coach is being able to choose quality assistants. Let's see if Candle is as good at recruiting coaches as he is players.

I have been impressed with his choices so far.
What do we have to be impressed about? I just recall a few with little experience from marginal programs but that was in the near-post departure bitterness haze. What resumes have been brought in? Is there a list of the new coaches?

Submit your resume...maybe he'll hire you.

Can you answer the question or not?

Is it your coach's way of building resume to get on the message boards and try to shout down anyone asking questions? Probably works in Alliance but now you're at a University where thought is expected. If these coaches weren't ready to be talked about and inspected, they wouldn't have accepted the half mill. Cool your jets. It's conversation.

I didn't shout down anyone. I'm one of the more logical people you'll meet on a message board. My comment was purely sarcasm based on your point suggesting you weren't impressed with any of the coaching hires to date. My jets are cooled...they were never fired up.

To the question at hand, I think the Mike Hallet hire has potential. To take a program that was winless or a one-win team for a few years and turn that program around to an eight or more win team for a number of years is impressive, regardless of whether its P5, G5, FCS, D2, D3, High School or whatever level you want. We'll see how his coaching style translates to this level, but I'm impressed with what he's done to date as a coach.

I don't know much about the other hires in terms of coaching, so I can't say that I'm impressed nor can I say I'm not impressed. Oklahoma State isn't a marginal program, but I don't know if this guy can coach or not. Ricky Ciccone has bounced around some smaller schools and I don't know what role or how good he'll be in that role. He does/did work a lot of the Ohio State camps and was an intern with the OSU program.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys from other programs land at UT as I've heard Coach Candle would like some variety and other ideas about how to structure the program. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one more Mount Union connection show up.

Make sure you root for the Purple Raiders on Friday...going for trophy #12 against a darn good St. Thomas team out of Minn.

Why would they even be on my radar? This is a Toledo fan board. We generally don't root for columbus St. We don't root for a nothern school or a southern school, let alone an eastern or western school.

Okay...don't then.

+1. A very mature response. GO ROCKETS! GO RAIDERS!
I like to see the football programs in our neck of the woods who aren't named after a city in Kentucky represent us well. No skin off my teeth if MU loses, but if they don't, that's cool.

The mature response was no response. No one here needs his permission to not root for a team not Toledo, not led by a Toledo product, in no way connected to Toledo.
Always liked Mount Union. Good luck Raiders!
