Miami (OH) and Appy State? That isn't uneasiness, that's hysteria.

It's only December. A lot can change between now and February. Glad to hear the connection to PA still appears to be strong. That is a critical connection.

Hunter's dad is a BG alum, coached with Matt Campbell at BG, and is an Assistant with Clawson at Wake Forest. Not surprised if he ends up at ASU.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 3-5 JUCO's in the class.

At this point it looks as if the D-back recruit pool took the big hit

Meh, we've always been very deep and talented at DBack. How bad could it be?

I have a sense things will right themselves over time. Any player that commits to Iowa State will have to be prepared to get the crap beat out of them for several years until the new staff can get things going, if they can even do that. Getting beat up week after week in front of your family members can get pretty old fast. Or they could come to UT, be closer to family, actually win some games, know that we are very strong on the academic side for players, and have a better shot at getting into the NFL. Those four things alone UT is in the win category against Iowa State. I think I would choose the later after outlining everything on paper.
Interesting that Campbell is not going after BG, NIU, or WMU recruits. He should be going after Michigan, Ohio State and MSU guys. If he wants to elevate Iowa State, he better get used to going head to head with the big boys. Even Beckman got a few 4 star guys to attend Illinois.

He's just filling the ISU Class. Will go after bigger fish next year. You can inflate class ranking by going after higher rated players without fulfilling the team's needs and signing a large class. A certain Head Coach recruits highly ranked player that often don't make it to campus and oversigns the Class.

He certainly won't be able to go after kids that Ohio State, Michigan, MSU and ND are recruiting in Ohio and Michigan.

He'll probably work on the Chicago area kids to go west. A lot closer than Cleveland & Pittsburgh......

They get worried that a good program they had committed to is getting a new coach, so they follow the old coach to a less successful program who just fired their coach and hired the coach from the successful program they had committed to. Bottom line, you are abandoning a program that is already successful for one that already is not successful. Which is the bigger gamble for the next few years of your life?

True, but I suspect that the way they try to sell it to these kids is telling them that they will on the ground floor and be an integral part of building something special-a new national power program in a P5 conference ----and along the way they will get to test themselves against the likes of schools such as Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. Some will probably buy into it and some will not.

Rockets have a lot of talent going into next season. With a more experienced OL, the season could be huge.

The offense should be improved next year but I have wonder if it will be enough to offset the enormous loss of talent and experience on the defense, particularly when it comes to D-line depth.
Depth on D next season is perhaps the key question. If it's there, and we get a JUCO receiver with size, and Hunt &Swanson are back, could be another nice season. But beating Northern and Western on the road won't be easy.

That's two games I will attend next year. Two games we should have won this year. Do we have any idea who we have to start at center next year? I have to say who ever it is it's got to be an improvement .

True, but if it is trivial enough not to be concerned about, why is it important enough to invest a good deal of your time and money?

I thought Carter did a very solid job at center this year. Am I missing something? He had numerous key blocks for the running backs pulling around the end of the line.
