Ruffin McNeill. Not an ECU fan and I don't follow them much. But this sounds really crazy. Ruffin is a great guy and a players coach. He did a lot to revitalize the program. But, I may not be seeing something.

Dumb move. That guy bled purple and gold and was doing a good job. You can argue that he under achieved but he was a consisent winner that bred passion and loyalty. Reminds me of the steve logan decision. Hope it works out ok for them

You know I am by no means an EZU fan. But I do like Ruffin. And they screwed him. And I'm glad it was no surprise to Mullet. But it was was to most of their fans.

My brother is a purple pirate and he said a strong majority of the fans were calling for Ruffin's head lately and he couldn't figure out why.

Time to make that loving big brother call to check in and uh... Rub it in.

It is no surprise to me that ECU would do something this stupid. They have and always will have the short man complex.

By saying that, I agree with you Mullet. ECU, its alumni, and fans seem to think they're better and more capable than they really are. If I didn't enjoy watching it so much I would feel sorry for them.

ECU fan base is delusional at best. They are not a big time player in NCAA football and NEVER will be.

The fans and ex-players I know are in shock. There now is a petition to reinstate McNeill. I doubt that will get anywhere. The damage is done.
The players were informed by the firing by the AD thru text and twitter. They are pissed.

Did you guys see on twitter that supposedly the ad had a players meeting to answer questions they had.

Question 1 - why did we find out on twitter?

Answer 1 - we sent out a group text

Question 2 - would you break up with your girlfriend through text?

Answer 2 - meeting over

Ecu running off Ruffin seems very similar to when we ran off brownell. Unless nick saban wants to move to Greenville this is not going to end well for them
