61-39. Definitely going to be a 1 bid league for CUSA. As long as we keep improving, start playing our best ball and firing on all cylinders in March we will be in good shape. Im glad the CUSA tourney is in BHAM again!!
Purdue just has too much size for ODU with Haas and Hammons. They also had 3 starters that didn't score...

Still a good day for the conference though. 7-1 today. The wins might not have been great, but there were a lot of them.
A ranked team beating a CUSA team by 22. I don't know if that is beating the crap out of someone. 39 points doesn't look good though.

And the 7 CUSA wins were all against D1 competition, which is the most wins we have had all season combined.
Yeah, a 7-1 day with a loss to a ranked team is fine with me. I'd like to see ODU put up a better fight than that(that was a home game, right?), but avoiding bad losses is huge for the conference as a whole.
I don't see where that makes us a one bid league. It may turn out that way but there is a lot of basketball left to be played. I can see a scenario where we get two bids.

Not a home game. It was a tournament in Connecticut.
Getting the crap beat out of you by a pretty good ranked team has never been a recipe for a one bid league. Losses like that happen to even great teams, though only scoring 39 points is rough. A win would've been fantastic, but it's not the end of the world to lose that game.

That loss wont hurt much as losing to the little sisters of the poor. It was 22 point neutral site game to a ranked team.

A lot of basketball to be played before we put shovels in the ground to bury teams.
ODU loses to St. Joseph's by two in the third place game of the Hall of Fame Tournament. 0-2 against decent competition.

According to the CUSA board, there was horrible officiating involved. Imagine that. 03-lmfao
So far today, FAU has lost by 14 to Lipscomb, ODU has lost to St. Joseph's, FIU has lost in overtime to Oral Roberts.

Still to play: UAB vs. Jacksonville St., Rice vs. Fresno State and UTEP vs. Alcorn State.

Surely UAB and UTEP can salvage some dignity for the conference.

You can say that this does not mean CUSA is a one bid league. But who so far has shown any indication that they deserve an at large bid. There has not been a good win yet by anyone. It is only a one bid league at this point, because they are forced to take the tournament champion.
It's a one bid league.

I'd say anything over 20 pts is getting the crap beat out of you especially if you don't even score 40 pts...

Didn't say it wasn't a one bid league. Losing to ranked Purdue is not what makes CUSA a bad league though.

I didn't say that loss is what makes us a a bad league. It reinforces that we are not on the same level as solid top 25/ tourney teams. Their loss to st Joe's didn't help our conference either
Yeah we are for sure a one bid league. Unless we beat Illinois Iowa state, GA state, Illinois st, and Stephen f austin. Then lose the tourney
Of course it's a one-bid conference.
Old Dominion basketball falls 66-64 to St. Joseph's

A conference cannot be a one bid conference this early in the season. If we won out to the conference championship game, do you think there is any chance we wouldn't have secured an at large bid, or a national ranking? I get it, things don't look great at the moment, but we have been very close to receiving an at large every year in cusa for the past 5 years or so. Still a ton of basketball to be played.
