I doubt he gets a P5 HC offer after this season. However, I believe he goes to a P5 school as an OC. I see this move as the likely scenario.

I do not see Campbell ever making that same move.

Go Rockets!
Is is a normal career path to take a P5 OC role after being a G5 HC?

Not a chance. That would be a very bad move for him and wouldn't help his head coaching stock at all. It may help him a bit financially, but he would make much more as a head coach.

There are already plenty of openings and seats are getting pretty hot at Purdue, Indiana, Virginia, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Rutgers.
He will get HC opportunities. Good coach. Wins. Carries himself with class.

Cristobal is making about $500,000 as Alabama OC after making about the same thing as FIU HC. If he gets the Miami job, Al Golden was making $2.2 million.

Is that the Al Golden who never beat a MAC team with a winning record?

But he didn't voluntarily leave FIU; they made the horrendous decision to fire him and replace him with Ron Turner, of all people. Kiffin's the OC, but Cristobal is still making good money because it's Alabama and they pay what Saban tells them to pay.

Dan Enos left CMU to become the OC at Arkansas, but I think he saw the ceiling at CMU and figured that move would be his best path to a head coaching job. With Babers' track record and interest he's already received (more than Enos ever got at CMU), he would be crazy to take a coordinator job now.

Yes. But he looked pretty damn sharp while losing to them.
I seriously doubt he'll leave after this season, but especially not to a G5 co-ord job.
I would guess Babers is interested in being a head coach not a P5 coordinator position.
He's 54- even an AAC head job might look good. 3-4 seasons at $1,000,000 plus for a lower P5 job would look awfully good at his age. BG isn't ever gonna pay near yhat.

Central Florida is going to have to throw a lot of money at somebody to take over that disaster. Fuente and Herman will be on a lot of candidate lists, so those jobs could be open as well.
Some AAC coaches will be moving on after this season, one way or another. Some MAC coaches will certainly be in the mix for those openings that result. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see1 or 2 MAC coaches move to the AAC.
If Babers wins the MAC title game, he'll get some nice offers for sure. His ability to develop the high scoring Baylor offense will be attractive. Of course he walked into an E Illinois job with a future pro QB and at BG had Matt Johnson. Johnson "might" come back next season, but it's time for Dino to get outta' town.
Heard a number of BGSUcks fans that were concerned about Babers going to Maryland.
Let me see: pick between Maryland and Missouri. School surrounded by crime ridden neighborhood or school looking for a coach who can play an outside mentoring and healing role you've the perfect personality to fill. I suppose it matters what the man wants out of career and life but if he is in contention for the Missouri job, I'd love to hear his reasoning for preferring Md.

There are just far too many openings this year and he has been a head coach at the FCS and FBS level, so I think this is going to be it for him. I also think our coach will get some strong consideration but he might be the one that sticks around. We also have a very strong President that is 100% behind athletics and I think she do what it takes to keep him around.

I hope you are right about our Coach. Everyone seems up about the new Pres. Regardless her view on athletics, improvement in academics and operation would improve UT as a place of work for athletics staffs also. I think it's a nice place to live, raise a family. Maryland? Blah.

True though, they do have crabcakes. yumm!
Crabcakes? Blech...But we have Packo's!
