Yes indeed, those Chips showed a lot character in the in the face of adversity by digging out from under a 21 point deficit and being in position to take the lead with a first and goal on the 2 yard line. Some real toughness on their part----you might say that they exhibited "Chippewa Toughness" at its best. But alas, in the end, they just put themselves in too deep a hole to work their way completely out of it--close but no cigar. blah, blah, blah.

The real story is that the Rockets came out sharply focused and put 21 points on the board in about 17 minutes of game time but then spent much of the remaining the 43 minutes of game time in frustration while watching the Chips trying to pull an NIU type comeback (and nearly succeeding). Fortunately unlike the NIU game, this time the Rockets were finally able to score a final touchdown which proved to be the margin of victory.

Just as the play calling and execution was responsible for the first 17 minutes of brilliance, so to were the same factors responsible for the floundering during much of the remaining 43 minutes.

Fortunately, the 17 minutes of Dr. Jekyll and 43 minutes of Mr. Hyde combination was good enough for the win against Central, but will probably not be good enough for a win against either BG or WMU.
