"As the partially missed onside kick trickled forward only five yards, Central Michigan’s chances evaporated away in its biggest home game in seven years."

Might I remind you that they've hosted both Michigan State ('12) and this year's undefeated 5th ranked Oklahoma St. Cowboys.

5th ranked Oklahoma won by 11 points, MSU won by 20 points.
These were fair margins to hold Toledo to.
Toledo's missed 2 makable field goals. That is 6 points earned but not banked.
5+6=11 A Margin that would have equalled Oklahoma State.
This might have garnered more votes for Toledo towards a ranking.

For CMU: The Toledo/CMU was about going to Detroit for the MACC.
The OOC games meant more for Toledo than CMU.
Remember both NIU and Toledo are one game away from equalling CMU with two losses.
CMU would probably have the advantage regarding cross over MAC East teams.
The Toledo(CMU) win opens the door for both NIU and Toledo (WMU also in the hunt) to get a share of the MAC West.

As an NIU fan thank-you.
Good luck against BGSU and your final MAC seasonal game.

Add in Ely over throwing open receivers that got behind the Chips' secondary which easily would have added two more touchdowns. The score was much closer than it should have been by at least 20 points.
CMU was also on the 2 yardline and were backed up on a PI call, followed by a sack which led to a missed 50some yard field goal. Toledo stood tough, but both teams imploded more than once. Kareem scored on the final UT drive negated by a hold. CMU had a huge play taken back as well.

The game final showed CMU played a nice middle of the game and again couldn't close. Toledo played a great 1st quarter and good hold on football in the 4th to take the game on the road. No shame in the final for me. UT covered!! Haha. 5-1 in MAC play is the most important thing. A win over BG will help more than a close win to CMU in the CFB playoff ranking.

Just don't know how you slow BG. How on earth did they only score 41 on Memphis?

Really interested to watch some of this wmu BG game tonight and see how it plays out. I have absolutely no idea what to expect.

Memphis actually controlled the ball in the 4th quarter, got some defensive stops late and outscored the Falcons in the later part of the game. BG's defense fell off.
The toughest opponents BG has played were Tennessee, Memphis, UB, Maryland, Purdue and OU. I'm not sure how many of the teams on their schedule had top 50 D's. Some of these high Offensive outputs have to be because of some bad defenses, and bad offenses that could not keep BG off the field. They will score in the mid 30's to mid 50's against us. Maybe they won't be able to stop us... IDK. The WMU game will tell more.
