They still have 1 lost in MAC play, must still play WMU and Ohio. Don't give up hope Rocket fans. Did you really think Toledo was going to play in a new years bowl? I hate to be CMU when the Rockets go up and play them. UT will have a chip on their shoulder. Regroup and win your last 3, 10-1 is great.

MC will have the Rockets ready for CMU.

I hope that you are right but that is going depend pretty much on what the coaching staff learned from the Akron game a couple of years ago.

Frankly I am a bit concerned because the defense which has carried this team most of the year, for whatever reasons, has shown itself to be merely good, not great over the last couple of games and the offense has not progressed to the point of compensating for that.
Ohio? Hahahahahaha. They'll get slaughtered by BG tonight.
NIU is not that good of a team and there is a good possibility of them losing to Western. Even if that happens, what makes anyone believe that UT can win the next three games. This team just doesn't have what it takes to win a Championship. We have the most talent in the MAC, but don't know how to play consistent disciplined football. Last nights game was the worst lost in UT history in my opinion.

Definitely ranks right up there with those UT games that I've watched.

Actually I felt we would lose one or two anyhow. My sense is that Memphis has the inside track on the New Years Bowl anyhow. We just played a really bad game. And as always I wish the best for their QB and WR, but if those guys are out for any additional games it will be tough to win other games the way they played against us. Both teams played poorly we just played a little more poorly then they did.

You lost to NIU with their 3rd/4th string QB and without one of the top two WR's on the team. After the 1st quarter, NIU took over and controlled the game on both sides of the ball. If NIU is not that good of a team, what does that say about Toledo and their play the last 6 years?

Or Toledo will have a demoralization hangover and get thumped at CMU. I actually see this being the more likely scenario.

I hope that isn't the case, btw.
I am biased but I believe Toledo beat Toledo last night, not NIU. The field goal was a bit strange, and the push off for the large gain that wasn't called pass interference was another blatant ref miscue, and the fact UT attempted a field goal when they should have kept driving for a TD to seal the win.

I'm not impressed with NIU. NIU comes up for this game each and every year and somehow pull it off. I commend them for it, but I still don't see them as the best quality team in the MAC.

I have to sit and wonder what if now, but I see Western running the show now.

Most proud of our fanbase as stepping up to fill the Glass Bowl and attempt to propel the program forward.

Well your QB is trash and may be comparable to Owens 05-stirthepot
I believe the coaching staff throughout the season did not want to risk getting Ely ( I also believe he has lost a step) hurt like last year by having him run often. I thought he did quite well last year against Mizzou running the ball before getting hurt.

I agree. A team like NIU or Toledo rarely lose two games in a row in the MAC.

There is absolutely no evidence to support this. Everything we've have seen, historically and this year, points in the other direction This is blind optimism. Once again, I'll watch, cheer, and be disappointed when we don't show up next week, but I will not be caught off-guard. As fans, we've been burned too many times for blind optimism.

You guys are up in the night on this. NIU is not that good, go ask Urban about NIU, but I am sure you know more than he. Our D kicked your a$$ and you say NIU is not that good? NIU did to UT on D what they did to OSU, they brought the heat, stopped the Toledo O from being successful. Give NIU fans some credit, we know you are a good team, we were leery about how we would match up given we know you all had and HAVE a great team. Our D messed you up, it messed up your entire belief in the game last night. You guys sound stupid when you say NIU is not good? Give us (NIU) some credit, they have owned your A$$ for the last 6 years, but hey, you all beat yourselves..... Not one player on the Rockets team has ever beaten NIU. We are good until you beat us... And guess what, WELCOME TO HUSKIE STADIUM NEXT YEAR.. Don't worry, we are not that good at home, we have had only 1 loss at home since Obama took office lol..... I think it came down to this last night, our D took the belief out of your O that they could score when they had to, late in the game. Once NIU made adjustments you all were done. We made big plays when we had to, overcoming incredible mistakes.

NIU is good, our system is good, and our kids believed they would win. Toledo, not so much. You all have the team, just no belief when it matters. It will be interesting to see what you all are made of after a humiliating loss, by a not so good NIU team. I know you have a great team, you don't. Every year we worry about playing you, maybe you should start worrying about NIU rather than Bowling Green, or at least put us into the RIVAL Bucket. I would love to have a rival school like UT. Kind of sucks you all just consider us as a team that just kicks your butt every year. Rival games are good for college football.

If MC is as good as they say he is, he will have Toledo ready.
NIU has beaten Toledo 6/6 , 7/8/ 8/11 . That is why I thought NIU would win.

The evidence:
Toledo has 3 MAC losses other than NIU in over 5 years.
Neither CMU, BGSU or WMU have winning records against Toledo in the past 5 years.
