on my venture to the first home game... I was on the fourth floor of U Hall... the chick was talking about females and breast augmentation... why is this a college course? who's business is it of a college to teach that crap... some old lady who has never gotten laid properly is telling young foolish women how to live their lives... it has NO business in a college setting... why was it only twenty five years ago... that you could pay for an AWESOME Toledo college degree for 50 bucks a credit hour... now its over 300... there is something wrong with this... until they straighten this out they won't see much money from me... hell... they got a mark up of a bazillion percent in only twenty years...

That's great. You really gathered enough information to make an informed decision regarding the value of a UT education. Keep your money, but you certainly didn't convince me to change my giving habits.
Was the "chick" for or against it? Also, were there pictures? Asking for a friend.

He's not wrong and yet he's wrong. There is something wrong with it. It's just not a problem sole to UT but the solution to the problem is donation to endowment and he's not interested in donating to endowment until costs come down. Catch-22.

Price of college is way up because of federal student aid program. All the colleges build up and charge more because they are just borrowing it anyway

30 yrs ago the state supported 70% of state school budgets. Now it has flipped 70+% is being handed to the students and families, thus causing what is already a vastly over $ burdened society. I know it costs $ to better yourself, but at what price? It's easy to say don't go to college, but then look at the spectrum of doors you can choose vs employment doors opened by a college education. Heathcare and college debt are two things that scare the bejesus out of me for down the road. There is a blah article in today's paper outlining what today's families are going through. I believe you pay your own way, but it's at the point when families are now having a hard time paying mortgages and putting food on the table. Helping build UT's endowment is one way to help. As far as what KB heard, not sure there is enough there to make an informed decision about what is going on in the classroom? It was a saturday, so was it a class or two students conversing? What context was that part of the conversation overheard. There is always two sides.

Anyone that lets the acts or words of one person control their opinion over the ENTIRE body of work at UT probably allows many things small and large to control them. What that means is that you cant even control your own reactions or behavior but what others do controls you! Think about it, one person said something you didn't like, and now you are allowing it to control donating to UT. Pretty sad post! Don't worry I am upping my donation this year based on the entire body of work and good things going on at UT. Hope you feel better about your post and basically saying screw UT and everything about it! Moderator please delete this thread, this is a selfish post that bases donations on the words of one person at UT. We don't even know if any of this is true anyhow.
