Toledo-Arkansas is a warm-up for the Brad Paisley concert according to this writer, Rex Nelson.http://www.sportinglifearkansas.com/rex-...-week-2-3/
Clearly an educated man.... Studies a lot of material before his nasty hands begin to scribble like a high school kid with blinders on

I think we will lose by about three or four touchdowns, unfortunately. Hoping for an injury free game and then come home to play an Iowa State team that we can match up with an hopefully beat.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall...

I concur. I might have felt differently if we had been able to play a full game against Stony Brook and pulled away in the second half, but what I was able to see would be largely graded as an "incomplete". Some good moments, some not so effective. Tough to head into Arkansas with less than a full game of experience & trying new plays on offense or new schemes on D. Both the flow (or lack thereof) and the 1st quarter slow showing by UT prevented much of the above.
Going to say Arkansas 56 Toledo 0. I don't see Toledo being able to move the ball with a new O-line, so so passing game, no Hunt, and a new kicker. On the plus side, Toledo will have Plenty of time to gain experience and pick up momentum or NIU and WMU.

You guys act like we've never beaten a big boy before. Or been ranked ourselves... GO FREAKIN' ROCKETS!

Epic Applause

I'm tired of "I hope we don't get hurt" attitude every time Toledo plays a "name" school.............

Execute poorly--miss tackles, miss blocks, drop passes, commit dumb penalties or turnovers----and this could be an embarrassingly complete rout. However, OTOH avoid these mistakes and the game is up for grabs.

In 2014 Missouri was just flat out the better team; however, I still believe against Missouri in 2013 without TO's THREE interceptions, we might well have won the game, and I don't see this Arkansas team being any better than that Missouri team.
We will do better than UTEP guys... Their coach tweeted this week "We play 8 ranked teams this season to Ohio State's 1. What a Joke." Or something along those lines.
They aren't looking for us to contend! They care more about where they stand in the top 25 than who they have in Little Rock Saturday. They smoked NIU last season, and they know NIU won the MAC. They might not be looking ahead to Texas Tech, but they're not worried about Toledo.

We had 9 days to get ready for this squad. We are underdogs... when has that stopped us?! Not 15 years ago we laughed at ranked teams as we mopped the floor with them. For those who say lets stay healthy, I agree only because our teams haven't stayed healthy at the key positions in a very long time. But let's still give it a ride and put it on the line! We have another shot at a P5 team next week, one we should win. The one this week is way bigger though. I'm ready to see the Rockets perform!!

Agreed! As a fan of a mid-major school, these chances are what I look forward to, as I'm sure do the players. We are not overmatched like Savannah St or somebody like that. We are the Rockets dammit! Have you seen our D line lately? Go Ely! Go Rockets! And go Woodside if gets in, LOL.
What I saw in the Stoney Brook game underwhelmed me. So, with the 2 guys suspended, and the injuries, I expect a rout, but I don't think a shutout. Maybe a field goal and some points in garbage time. I hope we come out healthy enough to compete with ISU.

Buzz killer...
And Arkansas is a 21 point favorite as of yesterday. I was going to say about 24 before I saw the line. I just want to see the O-line perform well and not get dominated. That would be a good sign for us going forward. As they grow and mature, so will our chances for a MACC. D-line and defense in general still has a lot of room to improve. No question the team gets a whole lot better next week with Hunt and Covington coming back.

I meant p5 teams. But UT is 7-14 vs. ranked opponents all time.
I think our D-line and linebackers maybe the deepest and best in the conference. Toledo's secondary is deep, we'll see about good. The wrs are all-MAC players, when they make their catches. But, I don't see them moving the ball, after only playing together for one half, against a FCS team that I've never heard of before this season.
we have a good offense. we will have moments. the key is not making mistakes - turnovers and penalties- and getting the tough catches and runs to sustain drives or make fgs into touchdowns.

on the other side our dline will challenge arksansas more than utep. that is the key to staying in a game against a big powerful talented opponent. if your defense can hang at the line of scrimmage you can stick around. i don't know how well our lbs and dbs can play. we lost an nfl linebacker. we got our best db back healthy for his 5th yr.
