Good news and recognition is welcome no matter the source. As a relatively young university, UAB is still mainly getting props because of its "medical side", but a school has to start somewhere. If the state (and its funding) doesn't collapse around it, UAB should continue to grow in prestige in the future and on an even broader base.

I think we should claim a national championship.

UAT would have claimed a couple by now.
