First time I have seen a total price tag on the facilities wish list: $55-$60M.
It will be more than that.

I can believe it, seeing as how we've basically never built anything.

+1 It's tough to cram 30 years worth of building into 3-4 years
I wonder how many times we're going to re-sod the football practice field before we put the turf down. Supposedly they do that every year. If we had installed turf 20 years ago, think of how much we would have saved on mowing, fertilizing, irrigation, and replanting annually. It's just stupid.

If you add the stadium that figure will more than double.
What will end up happening is you will have an IPF with two fields beside it outdoors. One turf and one grass. ;-)

Do we have room for a full size IPF?

Stadium is expensive.

Will said IPF include the football operations building or will that be separate?
Once football is in full swing it will provide revenue for some of the non-revenue sports like Track & Field, Bowling, Rifle, so on and so forth. In my eyes we need to make provisions for Football and Basketball and let their success generate revenue to upgrade all the other sports facilities.

Except for the track which needs to be moved...
Separate.

How is football suppose to provide revenue for the other sports? Apparently, it couldn't provide for itself, but NOW it's gonna magically help the other sports raise money?

What's your best guess about the sequence of the projects?

It's never been done the right way before either. Birmingham has never come behind the athletic program before like they are right now.
Did anyone pick up on this little nugget:

Quote:Men's basketball, women’s basketball, and volleyball share one court at Bartow Arena, which makes scheduling practices and games difficult.

This was said aloud at the alumni house event. Never really thought of it, but makes perfect sense. Pretty big issue.

Yep. Ingram mentioned at the Alumni House event that they hoped to renovate Wallace Gym to be used as a practice facility for each sport.
