I hope its not as hot when we play FAU in Sept. I suppose its an afternoon game because of the TV schedulers.

QB- Dane looks better, especially on the deep throws, but if he'll just toss it beyond 35 yards the WR's we have will go get it. Key Garrett will be playing on Sundays IMO - no thats not as much an opinion as a fact. I still think we have the best "group" of WRs in the league. Our RBs are OK, but not spectacular and will get us yards, but not capapble of winning games IMO. The line is above average, but had a breakdown or two against our very good DL.

That DL should be the strength of the entire defense. But as we backup further away from them, we get a little softer and less talented imo. The LBers are fine, but not great and the secondary still has a lot of issues.

It was fun to watch some FB, and I know we'll iron out some of the problems we had last year. So lets play us some FOOOOOOOOOOTBALL!
Another thing about scheduling.

I still don't think we schedule in nonconference with the idea of winning. I call it "scheduling for advantage". Our first game is against FAU. We should never schedule a southern team in non conference early in the year. Why? Well its not to our advantage to do so. A southern team from Florida is used to the afternoon heat. We don't have to play them in the first place and they bring very little to the table as far as prestige, money and fan appeal. But the reason is still the "heat". We should be playing those ridiculous MAC teams our AD wants to schedule early in the season when its nice and crispy. Toledo, BG, etc would be nice first game scrimmages for us.

BTW, the Sooners and Cowboys don't seem to be "schedule dumb!". Who are they opening with? OU v Akron. OSU v Central Michigan.

Duh!
