Geesh. What were they thinking.

On the other hand, if FB players are walking around with $500 cash in their wallets, maybe UB doesn't need to shell out that full cost of attendance thing.
Sounds like Moss pulled another theft? How does he get access to a master key to apartments with a criminal record? Can't imagine he hasn't used up,any remaining goodwill. OTH, he IS the reigning MAC POY.
Maybe it's good this criminal thug and academic casualty didn't end up at Toledo after all.

Academic casualty? How so? Six credits shy of a degree? And thug? Never heard of any violence, just REALLY bad decision making. Still, this makes me sort of glad he moved on.

Let me guess, he's proudly going to graduate with a 2.8 majoring in psychology. What gainful employment is that going to get you in the real world??? NONE!!!

And as far as I'm concerned if in reality, he really did steal money from other students, that makes him a CRIMINAL. "Thug"? I don't know. Whatever. It's a moot point. If he stole money through forced entry he should be charged with a crime and expelled.
I bet the football players didn't want to press charges because they wanted to protect the other athletes.

So again, how is he an academic casualty? And you're speaking to a guy with a psych major who did just fine for himself and family. A choice of major ( and I have no idea what his is) does not an academic casualty make. Academic casualties are guys who can't play because they didn't make grades.

Academic casualty? He is six credits away from graduating...

But it worked out well for Toledo. You made room on the bench for a drunk driver..

Toledo - The home of the Glass Bowl and big glass houses..

Thank you H2O for the sane post. Moss has a trouble stealing things and has been getting help for it. He left Toledo because they would not play him due to a heart condition.

He had surgery to place a pacemaker and got cleared for play but the Rockets were being extra careful, I respect them for their care on that issue.
The football players really cut them a break, although I doubt that it means much to them. Makes you wonder how many people they ripped off but never got caught. Nothing against Buffalo's "program" but I'm certainly glad those individuals are not in Toledo.
From the Bull Run web site:

Outside of his problems with stealing he is a model campus citizen and a stand up guy.

If this was a "paying, normal" student, how would it have been handled???? I'm guessing differently.
Why the special treatment as far as charges not being pressed, and how the university handled the situation? If a paying, normal student did this, I'm guessing they would have been thrown out of school. Don't get me wrong, I'm for 2nd chances, but this was thought out and planned. And yes, this probably wasn't the first time this has been done; just the 1st time they've been caught.

CORRECT!!!!!!! Moss was not allowed to play at Toledo because of a heart condition the UT medical staff found while performing a physical on Moss. He was not an academic casualty. In fact, he was allowed to stay at Toledo by the University on an academic scholarship to replace his athletic scholarship. However, he chose to leave Toledo, get medical treatment, and work his way back to Division I college basketball. Too bad Moss was part of this last endeavor.

Hmmm. A little bit of a contradictory statement. But, okay.

Maybe he would actually learn a lesson if he got punished for his actions. Instead of coddling him because he's a "student-athlete" and the MAC POY. If he was a regular student he would have been expelled with no questions asked.

I'm fully aware of Moss's past. And why do you feel sorry for Moss? I feel sorry for the students whose dorm room he snuck into and stole money from.

Agreed !!
I feel Moss should be held responsible for his actions !!
Did anybody here suggest that they felt sorry for Moss? Terry said it's too bad he got involved. And it is. I think we all feel he needs to be held responsible.

It's not "too bad" that he got caught stealing! It's a criminal act!!! You all make it seem like it was some sort of unfortunate turn of events!!!
