Rotary is looking for young professionals to go on an all expense paid trip to Scotland for group study exchange. The criteria for eligibility for Team members follow: Must be a member of a recognized profession who has worked in that profession for at least 2 years; must be available to travel to Scotland in March 2016; must live and/or work in RI District 6600 which is basically NWO; must not be a Rotarian, spouse of a Rotarian or linear descendant of a Rotarian. If you know someone please have them contact me ASAP. Need four team members.
Almost needless to say, this is a terrific opportunity for any eligible young professional to learn how their profession is practiced in Scotland

I think they are looking for under 40 but if close to that don't let that stop you.
I've got a good candidate. I'll be sending you his info via a PM as soon as I get it from him.

Awesome I need four people for them to field a team. Just need three more
That is if this person is accepted. Application and interview
Is there no one who wants an all expense paid trip to Scotland to see how they do your profession there

I'd love to, but don't think my employer would be too thrilled about swapping employees for a month.

Yes you will need your employers blessing to take a month leave. There is no swap however. The benefit of them letting you go is the experience you gain from seeing how they do what you do in Scotland and some good PR. Ask them they may just let you do it.
Just curious, not that I am one, but what's their beef with the Rotary?

Never know. Get an employee with new skills and maybe new business contacts...

FD: threads only been up a short time. Don't imagine everyone here fits the qualifications, under 40 or been working two years. Old farts and young kids. Let word get out like RR is doing, I'm sure you'll have no problem filling your spaces.

Spent a month in Scotland. March might be a bit dreary but it's all about the people anyhow. Scotland is foreign enough to be interesting without being difficult, it would be a great place for this opportunity. Note to the wise: Glasgow's rep is well earned. If you hit the pubs, particularly in football season, don't think it's a joke. Get your guard up quickly.

It is rotary that is paying for it. In the future a team from Scotland will come here and do the same thing. There will be a well seasoned rotarian who will go along and be the team leader. Scotland Rotary clubs will be very involved once team gets there. Some housing, going to rotary club meetings in Scotland. It is hoped person will become a rotarian after the exposure. It is part of what rotary is about. So they don't want to provide to someone already connected with Rotary. There are already 7 apps for the team leader like I said will be the team leader and coordinator.
Check your PMs Harry.

You don't swap but you would have to take a month off so yes employer might like that unless they see benefits of you learning how Scots do your job or want to reward a great employee
I'd kind of like to know why they limit it to people who are 40 and younger. Seems like they are disenfranchising a great many qualified people.
I don't feel disenfranchised but that's a personal take. There's age related things all the time. Best young entrepreneur, politician... under 40 so it's not unusual. I guess it's along those lines, to encourage a new generation to continue a tradition.

Well, I guess it does make me feel a bit "left out." Think I'll drown my sorrows in a doughnut or two.
They are trying to expose young people to the rest of the world and so they can use what they learn about there profession in another country and apply it back home to possibly even help the company they work for. It also helps each te to appreciate the world and to create a world community

Yeah, I'd love to see how the Scots do retirement.

BEAUTIFUL beaches in the Hebrides, but the water'll cause the boys to go into witness protection.
