I got my invoice today for my UABFB pledge some things in the letter worry me especially since Watts & Co are still involved & not to the good of UAB many times. While I do plan to stand by & honor my pledge just the details I see they seem to have put in the letter that aren't what they/I put on my signed pledge form. I said I'd pay $x starting 1/1/16 yet I get an invoice saying start 9/1/15??? I worry that those that still don't have UAB best interests & still want to kill things, they'd use the ammo of people not meeting pledges if they don't meet this 9/1 date. My main holdup for the moment is no contract for Clark etc.
Call them and say so, both things. They need to hear it.
I got an invoice yesterday, too. No alarm bells went off for me personally, and the fact that Hatton Smith and Coach Clark's signatures were on there made me feel pretty good. Not having Watts' signature on there was a nice touch. I'll cut my first check by 9/1.
My letter says they "are Asking you to pay by 9/1/15" a plea, not some requirement
My check is in the mail and I plan to pay the whole hing early. Loved seeing Coach Clark and Hatton's names on it.
I'm paying mine early too. It will be interesting to see who all is on the fundraising committee!

I think that is common for all non-profits to want to collect early.

I'm out of the loop... Hatton Smith and Coach Clark are signing the pledge forms now? Mine had Idiot Watts and Kahn the Con's signatures

No, their signatures are on the letters sent after the pledge form, requesting the actual payment. The pledge forms are still signed by Watts & Co, Hatton Smith and Bill Clark do not have the authority to sign contracts on behalf of UAB.
Yeah, it didn't bother me. If we get the money in by 9/1 it will count toward this fiscal year. I intend to do that even though my pledge was for 1/1/2016.
Budgeted it for 2016 and beyond, so I will not meet their request.
Same here. I will stick by my initial agreement. Something Watts has a hard time doing with people.

Even though Coach Clark AND Hatton Smith sent you a letter asking for your first payment by 9/1? I don't follow.
The names on this letter didn't worry me but the fact that those anti UAB crowd would use this as ammo after they put 9/1 date in, unofficially though it may be, but it then become "official" at some point for some reason to support their views. One thing's a given w/ them is that give a mm they'll take a parsec

Some people have it budgeted for a certain time ie bonus or tax returns.
They asked for it by a certain date for a reason. I don't think it will hurt anything if people pay them when they said they would. The biggest concern I have is people not following through on their pledges.
I will try my best to get my initiation installment mailed by September 1, even though I had stated the first of the year.
I know that if you stated "upon reinstatement of football" the university is considering your first payment due by Sept 1.

If you made a pledge, keep your promise.

BTW I have not received that letter. (Probably because I firmed up my payment plan in stone with UAB about three weeks ago)

Ok gotcha. I assumed they threw them out there in bulk and everyone in the metro area got it at the same time.
