So, how about adopting Southern Miss for 2015 and 2016. You can easily go back to hating us in 2017.
We need fans, and UAB fans are some of the loudest, craziest, and most intense fans I have met. We'll welcome you with open arms, and open tailgates. Just wear your UAB gear, and drink free beer, on us.

PS: Just yell "To The Top" whenever you're spoken to, and you'll fit right in.

In all seriousness, I am very proud that UAB Football is coming back. I pull for you guys every Saturday except one. Proud to be conference brothers.
Uh, no thanks. USM is our biggest rival in football. 70-14 is still too sore to ever root for USM.

Hey, you knocked us out of a Sugar Bowl spot. That's way worse than 70-14.

I've considered it. After all, our 2nd leading tackler all-time is on your coaching staff. I'll probably just end up going to more UNA games the next 2 years. I have a cousin who starts on UNA's O-Line. He had an offer from UAB, but got a bad vibe from McGee.
Thanks for the offer, buuuuut.... lol
Seriously, anytime & everytime you guys play ua I root for you guys. My first trip to the Rock was oir last game and enjoyed it. Been in the Guard for over 20yrs amd I love Hattisburgh and especially Mugshots.

Good luck this year and we want our S&C coach back!
No

As ugly as that score is, they called off the dogs. It could have been worse. IIRC, they didn't attempt a pass in the second half.

We were just that bad.

Could be wrong but I thought I remembered them still with their starters playing well into the 4th quarter.

Having said that, I will route for CUSA against their OOC opponents and probably whoever is playing against SEC teams.
70-14 is what happens when your coach completely gives up and doesn't even practice to prepare for the game.

Maybe we should thank Southern Miss for embarrassing him so badly that he ran away. If he had not left, UAB football would have been axed and stayed that way.

He most certainly did not "run away". He was forced out. As a matter of fact, he never lost to Southern Miss again the rest of his career here.

They can play their starters as much or as little as they please. If we didnt want to lose 70-14, we should have done a better job across the board. Southern miss is the closest thing we have to a football rival, I have no problem with them running the score up.
Had my games wrong... I was referring to the 62-27 game with the follow up coach.
Iron City is going to try and show games featuring our former players

I knew we were going to beat them the next year when I talked to Joe Webb at fan day. The look on his face when he said, "Nobody likes getting 70 hung on 'em." made me suddenly glad I wasn't USM.
I'll be at Samford's football games the next two years as it is my other alma mater.
I'll certainly root for all C-USA teams, but my money goes to UAB only. I will be a much bigger UAB soccer supporter this fall as well for more reasons than lack of football.
I'll follow Baylor and Oregon, too.
My team this year is Indiana. Jordan Howard will finish when we resume so it fits well

Pretty much the same thing.

My teams to follow this season are Baylor and Ohio State. I'll never forget the support for UAB when Gameday was at Baylor, and that kid trying to save the program made me an Ohio State fan overnight.

I'm hoping that Howard and Ganus make big splashes, too.

The oHio State program had nothing to do with that kid and his support of UAB. If that is your reasoning for supporting such a corrupt program as Ohio State, you might as well cheer for Alabama as well since there were Tide fans who supported UAB too.
UAB fans have struggled through enough dreadful seasons in our past, we don't need to experience them vicariously through Southern Miss when we don't have to.
