Can only imagine what this is about..

The way the press release was worded, looks like it's not a legal problem-like some other schools. Another scholarship opens up for a front-court player. Everything is good.

That's a shame. I really liked his energy.

Ah yes, the proverbial silver lining that accompanies the black cloud.

This.
As a program, we were due. More important the individual here. We can only hope it's a relatively minor thing in the scheme of a long life and that no one has been harmed.

Well this makes things "interesting" as far as a starting line-up and first man off the bech at each spot.
Quick guess...
PG Stuckey (Rodgers) (White)
SG Jon Jon (Sanford)
F Lauf (Navigato)
F Garber (Adway)
C Booth (Knapke)

I like Lauf off the bench- he's a high energy guy as well. Not sure Hall was that skilled- saw him as a project.

Navigato starts, makes the MAC all-freshman team. Adway eventually starts too.

Maybe the other way around

I agree except I could see Adway starting right away as well.
I did like Hall but I believe in Coach K and he is a disciplinarian.

hall was not likely to ever be a star but he was a positive high energy guy on the court and often gave the team a little spark. he was also physical. since he and lauf play the same position and are similar players, his loss isn't a big deal. however, if we have an injury or something with another one of our few remaining physical players we could have issues.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see 3 of the freshmen starting. I think most of us expect next season to be more of a challenge than the last few simply because so many freshmen will likely have to play many many minutes. Hall may have helped, but in the long run he was a very small forward without an outside shooting ability.

Not sure White is a PG. Wouldn't surprise me to see Rogers start at point.

I do not see Garber starting.
There are still some good junior college guys looking for a school. Also, a few fifth year guys who are eligible right away have not committed. I would not just automatically assume that Hall's scholarship will be banked until next year.

At what point in the year is a player's scholarship guaranteed? Hall is kicked off the team, but is his scholarship revoked? Can he still go to UT for free if he chooses? It's a bit late for him to make other college plans for this fall.

The four and five spots are brutal at this level. Kowalcyzk mentioned a few times last year he'd like to get both Garber and Booth on the floor at the same time. And in few blowout games he tinkered with it. I don't think either Adway or Knapke will be battle-tested ready to start until mid January.

If the proposed starting lineup from this thread started... Basically the guys left from last season??? We would turn into NIU/ Ball State and would be HORRIBLE.

Well, we're probably not going to be very good this year. In order to be good, we would need a couple of freshmen not only to start, but to be serious impact players this year. That doesn't happen very often. Maybe this year's recruiting class will turn out to be a good one, but it's unlikely that a bunch of freshmen are going to lead us to the upper tier of the MAC standings. Boothe and Jon-Jon are solid, but they are not superstars.

I would say that if he broke team rules his scholarship is revoked as of fall classes.
