This is a silly article. A Blazer supporter voiced his opinion in an article without any hard evidence, and Al.com felt the need to get South Alabama's rebuttal.
Completely agree. Dog days of summer?

I doubt Justin was expecting these quotes to become the centerpiece of an article.
Its the silly season.
Playeg right into their hands. Generate controversy, generates responces, at the expense of UAB. We always seem to get painted as the underdog or the pushy guy demanding respect.
At least he's keeping us in the news. I don't see anyone else doing that.

Damn. I hate it when I play into someone's hands. Thank you for pointing out their plan.

I eagerly await the follow up article

"UAB booster says 'Yes it is!"

03-thumbsup You're welcome. dont mention it!
Maybe the media are attempting to erect a AU vs UA type of rivalry at a lower level by such articles. If so, the jury is still out as to whether it will help or hurt either school's future athletic development. Unfortunately, UAB continues to have to fight with one arm tied down by its subordinate position with UA's BOT while USA has no such distant controls or restraints.

The competition in football is just one facet of the two school's competition, but in Alabama it is the one that gets the most media play. It is a complex story of the two schools, their metro areas and their support for their programs and also important, the state's support levels for each. There is no question that metro Mobile gets the best of the latter and has for at least half a century.
