We need a stadium and a contract for coach! More momentum than ever before. Bham is behind it for sure.
Contract. Where is the contract?
Man, it's not the plan that should be acknowledged as much as the benefits of not having a board of trustees that is consistently against you. I can't remember the specifics of how they broke away in the 60's or whatever, but it's a shame that the same couldn't have been done here.

Unfortunately the only thing contracted this summer to date is on the Tuscaloosa sorority row.
Isn't the title of this thread misleading? Not to nitpick Western but just asking.

He usually copies and paste. I suspect al.com changed their headline.

Apparently nothing.....lol. Just realized Western didn't start this thread.
Blazertalk rule: if a link to a news article is posted, WesternBlazer posted it....even if he didn't.

Yup.....lol
The comments that follow this article reinforce the advantage USA has in having its own loyal leadership. The expressed "competition" between the two schools is the result of the fiefdom mentality in this state which we all grew up with and assume to be "normal" (it is, but only for Alabama) . Both schools have certain strengths and weaknesses but the biggest difference is that only UAB has another school's BOT in control of its decisions, and that is a main USA strength (one they can afford to take for granted).

They can also take for granted greater state support for their school and their home city than is enjoyed by B'ham and UAB. When was there news of the governor flying off to Europe to gain industries for B'ham or Jeffco like he did for metro Mobile?
