Cool sentiment, but as we all know, cutting football was not a "budget-balancing" exercise. FRW was rightfully exposed for his murder-for-hire. We continue to wait for justice.
People in other states simply don't understand how the powerful in Alabama's power structures think. They accept that if a university President says so, it must be taken at face value. After all, would a school's BOT intentionally damage one of their member school's just for the sake of vengeance against a deceased leader? Would that member school's President cooperate in that action for his own reasons?
It cost UAB 10 million dollars to cancel football for 6 months. Obviously budget isn't the issue.

That would create a powerful theme of Rebirth/Renewal if the football time takes the field for its next game with BIRMINGHAM across their jerseys.
Expect a home and away Bham jersey this year. I've heard from many people that Haase wants it. Especially for Auburn game.
i am always amaze to see comments about people who know pretty much nothing about the uab situation and seem to think what is best for UAB

The more I've thought about it the more I see his point. I remember the battle to get the "in" replaced with "at". Sounds silly now but it was a major issue in the 80's
Why not? Let the University play into the identity of the "new" Birmingham.
