We need to turn up the heat on getting Watts out.

He does not represent UAB well at all.

He does not tell the truth.

He cannot govern our campus effectively.

There are no groups on campus that have confidence in him.

He has cost UAB over $11 million in six months by killing UAB football, bowling, and rifle. that number will rise more when we do not field a team in 2015.

He has hampered the efforts to raise funds and has refused to acknowledge some donations, especially before he killed football.

He has claimed for to be more transparent and to have shared governance but has done exactly the opposite.

He continues to embarrass the University every time he speaks.

Feel free to add to this list!

FIRE RAY WATTS! That is our battle cry. Until he is gone we cannot prosper like we should. Notice I didn't say the F word.
Plan on sending out another round in the next 24 hours. By now I think I have all the addresses that I could possibly need but in case someone doesn't make sure to check the pinned threads above
What if we make him mad and he shuts football down again?
Watts is already out this year. They are giving him upwards to 6 months for "transition". News is making its way around the admin staff & research departments.

Punishment for reinstatement or would that have happened either way?
With Witt being pushed out also, I'm still trying to get confirmation from these sources if Watts is transitioning or if they are done with him altogether.

I was told this about 2 months ago by someone on the Faculty Senate and in the same sentence they said football would not be coming back, so, either way. And yeah, he was wrong on football but he won't be wrong on Watts.
He can do too much damage if allowed to transition. Good people are losing their jobs and possibly their careers because they did the right thing, simply exercising their free speech rights as US citizens/residents and their responsibilities as faculty/staff.
Finish this kids. Finish now

Sweep the leg!
The buzz circulating is that Witt is being forced out & replacement has already been chosen. (Is there an age limit? Witt turns 75 in Sept.)
Also Watts is out by end of year.
I hope the replacement won't have us wishing for Watts to come back. It would be bad if they choose someone who is against and competent at achieving his goals too.

I'd hate to have Pumpkinhead around for 6 more months :(

Amen to that!
We need to push for a more open selection process. Doesn't matter whether Watts is leaving or transitioning.
News is that a former Bama guy has been hired as UA President from LSU. I guess Witt is next.

Maybe Watts knew this as well and decided to bring back football for the board not standing by him after he did their dirty work. 05-stirthepot

If people are losing their job because they stood up to Watts, we need to know who, and we need to stand up for them like we stood up for football. It's only the right thing to do.

I agree. This needs to come out if it's being done.
