Is it B'ham's job to prop up UAB in anything it does?
If the answer is NO, then Mobile should not help T-K Steel or Airbus, Tuscaloosa should disown M-B in Vance, Lincoln should run off Honda, Montgomery should alienate Hyundai and Huntsville should run off Redstone's NASA and Remington's new plant. Is anyone suggesting any of that?
While we are at it -- What is AU's or UA's responsibility to "prop up" schools in wealthier states like Ohio (Kent State for $1.2 million), Colorado (CO State for $1.5 million), Florida (FAU for $1.2 million) and Miss. (USM for about $1.1 million). This is not to mention the millions propping up Western Carolina, UT Chatt, San Jose State, GA State and so many others over the past few seasons. I'm sure those states appreciated all those "Alabama Bucks" that supported their schools. Is the saying now "Charity begins in other states, but NEVER in "Sweet Home Alabama"?
