Jack NAILED IT!!!!!!

Guys we won the day today.
+1. I feel good. But we must close this thing out. FRW
Please provide a quick summary of what he said. For some reason I can't play the podcast on my iPad
Jack said there is a great divide within the UAB administration. The VP's are onboard for the three sports to come back. Top UAB leadership is united in believing UAB football needs to come back.

There is now division within the Bryant Bank UABOT, but two or three rogue board members are insistent that football not come back.

Not a person in their right mind believes the CarrReport is valid.

If this is about money, that argument is over. If it's not about money, then Watts wasn't honest back on December 2nd.
Jack believes Ray Watts is more than halfway through his tenure as president.

Believes Witt has less time remaining than Watts.

What will be the legacy of Ray Watts?

Watts has had several opportunities to become a hero, and he has squabbled it every time. He has one more chance.
Also did math that Watts & Co essentially spent more to kill it & support that decision than if we kept it.

Also if brought back need to take advantage of goodwill created & Clark is the guy who can do it

Parallels to SMU but differences between them too
This isn't going away!

If we get through the weekend without an announcement, the positive momentum will continue to build. The corporate community is getting behind UAB football.

UAB football will come back with a vengeance!
Jack believes killing UAB football has already cost $11 million.

It can't come back as the abused step child it has been in the past. UAB football has to come back with excellence and commitment to winning.

Believes Birmingham will get behind this team.

Believes there will be a lot of national attention as well.

Jack believes there are good things ahead for UAB football.

Jack seemed to indicate that Justin Craft will give an update today on where we stand with fundraising.
From channel 6 interview this morning: VPs are all against Watts, he's totally isolated, announcement was absolutely going to happen Friday, corporate leaders in Birmingham got involved yesterday, yesterday bought another week, important to make it through the weekend, he's not exactly sure what Filler told Watts to make him hold off but it must have been big.
What, is Watts going to be visited by the three Ghosts of UAB Football over the weekend?

All of that needs to come straight out of Watts' pocket.

He might have to sell his apartment in Brooklyn
It doesn't seem fair for one-time expenses he incurred by himself to be lumped together with the cost of the football program. The program did not want to be shut down.

I don't think anyone has necessarily said that will be the case
I don't think that will be used against us. It is not a cost of maintaining the program.
I think it's safer to assume anything and everything that can be used against us will be.
